WE ARE NOT SORRY
If we’re ever sorry,
we’re sorry that we didn’t lay down our lives earlier,
Surrendering to the cross,
For which we now joyfully suffer great loss.
We are not sorry that we stood on His truth,
And for this cause, lost many friends in our youth.
We’re not sorry for replacing celebrity gossip with Good News,
Or for having Biblical worldviews.
You can call us hyper-spiritual,
But we’re not sorry for trumpeting His name,
For it is only Jesus that bore our sins and our shame.
We are not sorry for preaching the gospel on our social media,
Why should we, when unbelievers boldly propagate sin there?
We are not sorry for singing “Worthy is Your name” aloud,
When abado abado is still hailed by a crowd.
We are not sorry for pursuing sexual purity,
Even if people believe that it’s an impossibility.
Have you met Jesus, who turns impossibilities to possibilities?
We’re not sorry for laying down the titles, ego, and fame,
And instead living to exalt His name.
For His glory, we don’t mind being called “mumu” or lame.
We are not sorry, oh,
Because being sorry will mean that we are ashamed,
But where’s the shame in being loved so dearly,
In being redeemed so graciously,
In Jesus dying so miserably to give us life eternally?
We are unashamed and definitely not sorry!
