Take a second to recite:
‎اَللهم صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ
(O Allah, send blessings upon Sayyidina Muhammad and the family of Sayyidina Muhammad.)

In this month of Rabīʾ al-Awwal, let’s increase our selawat upon Sayyidina Rasulullah ﷺ and strive to make selawat for a consistent number everyday, with the hopes that eventually we would be uttering it with love, longing and a sincere strive to establish a connection with Sayyidina Rasulullah ﷺ.

Muḥarram is known as the beginning of the Islamic year and the sacred Month of Allah. It is one of the four sacred months in Islam, a time when peace and good deeds are especially valued and wrongdoing is strongly discouraged. It marks a period for reflection, piety, and renewal.

This month carries a deep significance for us to reflect on the state of our inward heart with Allah. It is an opportune time for us to embark on tazkiyatun nafs - purifying of the heart by turning back to Allah through repentance, worship, and reflection, setting the tone for the year ahead.

Ya Allah, in this blessed Muḥarram, purify our hearts, soften our souls, and draw us closer to You with sincerity and love, Aamin. 🤲🏻

Dhūlḥijjah reminds us of the timeless legacy of Prophet Ibrahim pbuh, whose unwavering trust and submission to Allah continue to inspire generations of believers. When faced with the ultimate test of sacrificing his beloved son, Prophet Ibrahim pbuh responded not with hesitation, but with complete trust in Allah’s wisdom and command. His story teaches us that true sacrifice is not only about what we give up, but about surrendering our hearts, desires and plans for the sake of Allah.

In this month of Dhūlḥijjah, let us reflect on our state of complete trust and surrender to Allah, in all our affairs.

As we journey through the blessed month of Dhūlḥijjah, may we strive to embody sincerity, obedience and the tawakkul of Prophet Ibrahim pbuh, knowing that true devotion lies in the full submission and trust in Allah’s will and eternal wisdom.

The first ten days of Dhūlḥijjah are among the days most beloved to Allah. It offers a sacred opportunity to renew our hearts and increase in worship, ultimately drawing closer to Him. In a world full of distractions, Dhūlḥijjah reminds us to pause, reflect and realign ourselves with what truly matters.

Let us strive to seize the opportunity in these blessed ten days to increase in good deeds, seek forgiveness, strengthen our connection with Allah and plant seeds of barakah that may transform our lives long after Dhūlḥijjah has passed.

May Allah accept our efforts and allow us to leave Dhūlḥijjah spiritually renewed. 🤲🏻

The Prophet ﷺ did not worship Allah by seasons but with consistency.

As we step into the second half of Shawwāl, let’s revisit our intentions and motivation to continue the worship cultivated in Ramaḍān. May our sincere deeds of establishing supererogatory prayers, regular fasting, constant remembrance of Allah and ṣadaqah, draw us closer to Allah.

‘Eid Mubārak! Taqabbalallāhu minnā wa minkum.

In this blessed month of Shawwāl, let’s practice the sunnah and greet one another with duʿā — for our deeds are only complete with Allah’s acceptance.

At the same time, we continue to honour our beautiful traditions. Wishing “Selamat Hari Raya, maaf zahir dan batin” is a meaningful custom that reflects humility, forgiveness, and togetherness — values that are in line with our faith.

May our greetings, whether through duʿā or tradition, bring hearts closer and be accepted by Allah.
