Nepal Flood Relief — Standing Together

The devastating August 26, 2026 floods along the Bhote Koshi–Trishuli River corridor caused widespread destruction across Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. Homes, roads and bridges were swept away, leaving some communities extremely difficult to reach and many families displaced.

Despite these challenges, assistance has continued to reach affected families through our local partners:

📍 Galchhi, Dhading — AWON
Kitchen utensils, hygiene supplies, snacks and biscuits.

📍 Bidur, Nuwakot — Karmi Initiative
Clothing, slippers, towels, undergarments and other personal necessities. Bidur recorded 3,026 damaged homes, the highest among the affected local government areas assessed.

📍 Devighat / Bidur, Nuwakot — United Sikh Community Kitchen
Freshly prepared meals and ongoing food assistance for affected families.

Different forms of support, one common purpose

From food and kitchen essentials to clothing and personal necessities, these efforts are helping families regain some of the basic things they lost when the floods swept through their communities.

The road to recovery will be long, but your generosity is helping bring practical assistance, dignity and hope to families who are rebuilding their lives.

Thank you for standing with the people of Nepal. 🙏❤️

Nepal Flood Relief — Support for Families in Bidur

Our partner, Karmi Initiative, a local community initiative in Nepal, urgently responded to the needs of families affected by the devastating August 26, 2026 floods in Bidur, Nuwakot.

Following the disaster, Karmi Initiative identified an immediate need for basic personal and household necessities, particularly for families who had lost their belongings in the floods. With support from our donors and friends, essential items were collected and prepared for delivery to the affected communities.

The supplies include:

* Slippers and footwear
* Bathroom towels
* Women's undergarments
* Men's undergarments
* Children's undergarments and clothing
* Other essential clothing and daily necessities

These may seem like simple items, but for families who have lost their homes and possessions, they are essential to restoring some dignity and normality to everyday life.

The scale of the destruction in Bidur has been immense. According to the latest government Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment, 3,026 private homes were damaged in Bidur Municipality — the highest number recorded among the 15 affected local government areas across five districts.

Karmi Initiative is helping to bridge an important gap — providing the everyday necessities that families need as they begin putting their lives back together.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed and made it possible for these supplies to reach those who need them most.

The journey to recovery will be long, but every act of kindness brings comfort, dignity and hope to families rebuilding after this devastating disaster.

Thank you for your continued compassion, generosity and support.

One of our partners, Active Women of Nepal (AWON), has also been providing much-needed assistance to flood survivors in Galchhi, Dhading. AWON distributed pails packed with essential kitchen utensils, oral-hygiene products, snacks, biscuits and other daily necessities to affected families.

Galchhi was among the areas severely affected by the August 26 floods along the Trishuli River corridor. In Galchhi Rural Municipality alone, 279 families were displaced and 114 houses were completely destroyed.

These essential household items are especially valuable to families who lost their homes and belongings in the disaster, helping them begin rebuilding their daily lives.

💡 Gift of Light — Bringing Hope to Families in Nepal

One of the relief items made possible through your generous donations is solar lamps, which we provided to Nepal Scouts for distribution to families and schools affected by the devastating floods.

The solar lamps have been distributed to schools and homes in Betrawadi and Devighat, Nuwakot.

Many children and families are currently staying in schools and temporary holding centres because their homes have been damaged or are no longer safe to live in. The solar lamps were especially helpful for those who chose to remain in their damaged homes, providing them with a source of light when electricity is unavailable.

The solar lamps have also been distributed by United Sikhs to affected families in Devighat and Battar Bazar (Battar), Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot District.

💡 A simple solar lamp can mean so much.
It provides light for children to read and study, helps families move safely after dark, and brings a little comfort and security to those living through the aftermath of the floods.

❤️ This is your “Gift of Light.”

Through your generosity, a practical item has become a small beacon of hope for families and children facing difficult circumstances.

Thank you for helping us bring not only essential supplies, but also light, comfort and hope to the people of Nepal.

May this light continue to shine where it is needed most.

Relief Update — Supporting Langar Seva in Nuwakot

United Sikhs, a United Nations-affiliated international humanitarian NGO, is also one of the many valued partners we are working with in the ongoing relief efforts in Nepal.

With your generous donations, we are providing food supplies to support their ongoing Langar Seva, which is providing hot, nutritious vegetarian meals to communities affected by the devastating floods.

The meals are prepared at the United Sikhs community kitchen in Devighat, Nuwakot, where volunteers work together to cook and serve food to those in need.

What is Langar?

Langar is a community kitchen where free vegetarian meals are prepared and served to everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. Everyone sits together and shares the meal as equals.

What is Seva?

Seva means selfless service — volunteers give their time and effort to cook, prepare, clean and serve the meals without expecting anything in return.

At a time when many families have lost access to food and basic necessities, this simple act of sharing a warm meal provides not only nourishment, but also dignity, comfort and a sense of community.

May every meal served bring nourishment, strength and hope to those affected.
