Dana Citta Buddhist Society commemorated Guanshiyin Pusa’s Renunciation Day with a Dharma Service featuring the recitation of the Universal Door Chapter from the Lotus Sutra.

We were also honoured to have Venerable Kassapa Kelaniye from Sri Lanka join us in celebrating the birthdays of devotees born in the month of November.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Venerable Bao Tong and The Buddhist Union for kindly allowing us the use of their Dharma Hall for our monthly cultivation.

Venerable Fa Guang of Miao Hua Shan and Zhigui Foshi Buddhist Vihara in Malacca warmly invites us to take part in Kathina 2025, which will be held on Sunday, 22 November 2025.

Kathina is a precious time of giving, held after the Vassa retreat, when devotees offer robes to the Sangha. This simple yet profound act supports our monks and nuns, nurtures generosity in our hearts, and brings countless blessings to all who take part.

Anusarnsunthorn School for the Deaf is a government-recognized special education boarding school located in Chiang Mai, dedicated to serving deaf and hard-of-hearing students, many of whom also live with additional challenges such as physical disabilities, speech impairments, or developmental conditions like autism.

The school provides a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Using visual learning techniques and Thai Sign Language, the curriculum is designed to support each student’s unique needs—from early childhood to high school.

In addition to academic education, the school places strong emphasis on vocational skills training such as:
• Handicrafts and keychain making
• Hotel service tasks (e.g., bed- making, folding)
• Basic computer literacy
• Life skills for independent living

These programs equip students with practical skills to help them become self-reliant and employable, even in the face of social stigma or economic hardship.

Sri Sangwan Chiangmai School was established in 2001 in memory of the 100th Anniversary of the birth of HRH the Princess Mother. This governmental institution provides education from kindergarten up to 12th grade to students with physical and health problems. The enrollment is expected to increase to 280 students.

Disabled children come from many provinces, including Karen, Hmong, Akha, Lisu, Lahu, Shan and Mien ethnic groups. Their students register with a variety of different disabilities, such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Spinal Cord Injury, Congenital Anomaly, Osteogenesis imperfecta, Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenital, Muscular Dystrophy, Loss of limbs and Polio.

Weekly Update – Our Mission: Relief, Regain, and Rebuild

We are pleased to share progress on several key initiatives under our mission to Relief, Regain, and Rebuild.

This past week, we completed the construction of several buildings for the nuns at Sayalay Daw SutaNani and Inn Gyin Pin Chaung, as well as the Vimuttayone Chaung Nunnery in the Sagaing Hills. These new facilities are equipped with toilets and water containers to support daily living needs. While the ongoing rebuilding efforts across the region have made it more difficult to engage carpenters—many of whom are assisting other earthquake-affected communities—we remain grateful for the dedication of those who continue to work alongside us.

We are also happy to report that young Mg Thura Hein Htet has been discharged from the hospital and is now back in Inle. While his condition may require further surgery in the future, Dana Citta Buddhist Society is committed to supporting his medical needs even beyond the current project timeline.

In addition, we have procured two large fiberglass water tanks—each with a capacity of 3,000 gallons—for ThanDarYone Monastery to replace their previous tank, which was damaged in the earthquake. Plans are also underway for the installation of a water purification plant at Kho Nan Monastery. The site has been identified, and we expect the project to be completed within the coming weeks. Once operational, the purification system will provide clean water to both local residents and Sangha members. To further support this effort, we have purchased 70 portable water bottles for community use.

Finally, we will be assisting with the repair of a local school in Fleichay Village, Inle Lake, which currently serves approximately 107 students. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the continuity of education in this region.

每周更新——我们的使命：救助、恢复与重建

我们很高兴地分享在“救助、恢复与重建”使命下取得的几项重要进展。

本周，我们完成了位于萨嘎因山的Sayalay Daw SutaNani、Inn Gyin Pin Chaung以及Vimuttayone Chaung尼姑院的几栋建筑。这些新建筑配备了厕所和储水容器，以满足日常生活需求。由于许多地震灾民正在重建家园，目前请到木匠的确较为困难，但我们仍深感感激，有许多敬业的工匠愿意与我们并肩努力。

我们也很高兴地报告，小男孩Mg Thura Hein Htet已经出院，并返回茵莱湖的家中。尽管他的病灶可能在未来需要再次手术，喜舍佛教学会承诺将持续资助他的医疗需求，即便该项目结束后也不间断。
