SDC is a Tibetan Buddhist Centre dedicated to the spreading of the Lord Buddha's teachings in particular the Vajayana Tradition, by following the teachings propagated by Realised Being The Great Tsongkhapa’s, the Wisdom Buddha. During the audience with His Holiness Dalia Lama, HE Kyabje Kensur Rinpoche requested for new name for the dharma centre in Singapore and Malaysia. HH advice us to name the
dharma centre as " SAKYAMUNI DHARMA CENTRE" and presented Buddha Sakyamuni thangka with his blessing signature on the painting to His Eminence Khensur Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche. HH said to spread the true teachings of BUDDHA SAKYAMUNI. Therefore, the meaning of Sakyamuni Dharma Centre (SDC) is to spread Buddha’s teaching and follow the path of The Great Tsongkhapa. SDC was officially open on 2nd Jan 2000 with the blessing of His Eminence Khensur Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche. SDC members requested the root guru to be spiritual adviser. His Eminence was an ex-abbot and was a great master sought after in Tibetan society and other parts of the world.. He was a compassionate and a great meditation yogi. Rinpoche enter into parinirvana state (1928-2012) and his root student H.E. Tulku Woser Rinpoche and Rev. Geshe Jampa Lobsang are our spritual directors who guide us in our dharma parctice and meditation. Sakyamuni Dharma Centre aims to provide an environment conducive for everyone to study, practise and receive the pure Dharma, not only for those with an affinity with it, but also to create opportunities for others to connect with the Dharma and generate love, kindness and compassion to help and benefit all sentient beings. Lama Lobsang Norbu and Ven. Lama Lobsang Gyaltsen are our resident sanghas to help SDC in performing rituals, blessing, and dharma services.
