Redeemer Baptist Church

Redeemer Baptist Church We are a family-oriented, Bible-based community of believers. We love to worship God, fellowship with other believers and reach out to others.

Send us a message - we'd love to be in touch :) "A Committed Christian." As we all know, nothing is established or accomplished without commitment. Commitment is the basic ingredient for any plan to succeed. Without commitment, we cannot hope to fulfil the Great Commission that the Lord Jesus has given us. God is also looking for people to be fully committed to Him. In 2 Chronicles 16: 9 it says,

"For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him." Let us strive together to be a committed Christian -- what God has called us to be and to
do.

[31 May 2026 Sunday Service]
A heartfelt thank you to Sis Sarah Choub for delivering such a stirring and motivational wake‑up call message: ‘Wake Up Before It’s Too Late (W.A.K.E)’ drawn from the mighty scriptures of Ephesians 5:1–20.

Her words reminded us that God calls us to rise from spiritual slumber, to walk in His light, and to live wisely in these urgent times. Truly, it was a message that shook us awake to the reality of faith, obedience, and the precious gift of time we have been given.

May we not delay, but respond now, living as children of light, redeeming the days, and glorifying Christ in all we do.

Dear Brothers and Sisters Christ, sometimes we drift through our days half-asleep by chasing routine, comfort, or even pride, while the Spirit is quietly calling us to wake up. Paul’s words in Ephesians 5:1-20 are not gentle suggestions; they are urgent alarms. “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” To wake up before it’s too late means to stop living on autopilot and start walking intentionally in the light of Christ.

To wake up is to recognize that divine guidance must triumph over human desire. A Spirit-filled church is not marked by fear or comfort, but by Courage, Holiness, and Love. When we awaken, we stop being satisfied with shallow faith and begin to hunger for God’s presence. Awakening means rejecting darkness (Example: Gossip, Pride, hidden Sin) and choosing to be filled with the Spirit, singing psalms, giving thanks, and living wisely.

This is not just about the church as an institution; it is about each of us. What fills your heart today? Is it anxiety, distraction, or pride? Or is it the Spirit of God? Awakening is not a one-time event but a daily choice. Every morning, we decide whether to walk in the light or stumble in the shadows. To wake up before it’s too late is to realize that tomorrow is not promised, and today is the day to live fully for Christ.

After hearing today’s wake-up call message shared by Sis Sarah, let’s everyone of us take sometime to reflect during this week:

• Spirit-filled living: What truly fills out heart: Fear, Pride, or the Spirit?
• Divine guidance: Are we following God’s voice, or our own desires?
• Urgency of faith: If Christ returned tonight, would He find us awake or asleep?
• Church identity: What marks our church today: Routine or Revival?

Or we may even wondering or questioning 🤔🤨 :

• Is Comfort the greatest enemy of Spiritual Awakening?
• Can a church be “Successful” yet Spiritually Asleep?
• Does true Awakening require Suffering, or can it come through Joy?
• Is being Spirit-filled a personal experience, or must it always be communal?

In our daily struggles, whether it’s balancing work, family, or the quiet battles in our hearts, we often feel drained, like branches cut off from their source. Jesus reminds us: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” Abiding in Christ is not about religious performance, but about staying connected to the living source of love, strength, and purpose. Just as a branch cannot survive apart from the vine, we cannot flourish apart from Him.

To abide in Christ means to let His presence shape our thoughts, our choices, and our relationships. It is a daily surrender, choosing to draw life from Him rather than from fleeting successes or human approval. Abiding is not passive; it is active trust, a conscious decision to remain rooted in His Word and His love. When we abide, His life flows through us, producing fruit that blesses others and glorifies God.

Let’s think of the times when we tried to stand on our own strength, how quickly we grew weary, bitter, or empty. Yet when we abide in Christ, even in storms, we find peace. Abiding transforms us:

• From striving into resting.
• From emptiness into fruitfulness.
• From isolation into communion.

This is not just a spiritual truth; it is a lifestyle. In our homes, workplaces, and communities, abiding in Christ means carrying His presence into every conversation, every decision, every act of love.

After hearing today’s message, let’s take sometimes to reflect, and ask ourselves:

• Abiding in Christ: Are we truly drawing strength from Christ, or from our own efforts?
• Fruitfulness: What kind of fruit is our life bearing? Is it love, patience, forgiveness, or something else?
• Connection: In what areas of our life have we disconnected from the Vine, and how can we return?
• Faith vs Works: Is abiding in Christ more about faith or about disciplined action?
• Community vs Individual: Can one truly abide in Christ without being rooted in a Christian community?
• Fruitfulness vs Faithfulness: Is the measure of abiding seen in visible fruit, or in quiet faithfulness?

Every one of us knows the weight of habits that chain us (For example: the quiet compromises, the hidden guilt, the repeated failures). Yet Paul declares that in Christ, we are not merely forgiven; we are set free. Renewal is not just about turning over a new leaf, it is about entering into a freedom that sin can no longer command. True freedom is not the absence of rules, but the presence of grace that breaks the dominion of sin.

In Romans 6, it reminds us that if we have been united with Christ in His death, we are also united with Him in His resurrection. Sin’s wages are death, but God’s gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus. Freedom from sin is not a license to live carelessly, but it is a calling to live victoriously. Renewal means we no longer obey sin as a master; instead, we walk under the reign of grace, empowered to live in righteousness. True freedom is not found in doing whatever we want, but in being liberated to do what God desires.

Let’s think of how often we confuse freedom with indulgence. The world says freedom is the right to choose anything; but in Scripture says freedom is the power to choose rightly. Therefore, renewal means we are no longer slaves to destructive patterns. It means that we can stand up, resist temptation, and walk in holiness, not by our strength alone, but by Christ’s victory. True freedom is not fragile, it is eternal, because it is anchored in the cross and resurrection.

After hearing today’s message shared by Ps. Karol, let’s take some pointers to reflect and ask ourselves this week:
• Are we living as one truly free, or are we still obeying sin’s commands?

• Do we see freedom as indulgence, or as empowerment to live righteously?

• How does grace reshape our daily choices in family, workplace, and community?

• What chains are we still holding onto, even though Christ has already broken them?

• If freedom means doing whatever we want, why does it often lead to bo***ge?

• Can true freedom exist apart from God, or is it only found in Christ?

• Is obedience to God a restriction, or is it the highest form of liberty?

• How does the resurrection redefine our understanding of freedom compared to the world’s definition?

Sometimes we do face battles that feel overwhelming, whether it’s pressures from work, family struggles, or even the quiet doubts in our own hearts. Joshua and the Israelites faced five kings united against them, yet God’s promise was clear: “Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand” (Joshua 10:8). Faith is not just believing in God’s power alone, it is obeying His word even when the odds look impossible. Obedience is the bridge that carries faith into victory.

In Joshua’s story, it reminds us that doing God’s will is not about relying on our own strength, but about trusting His promises and walking in obedience. The miracle of the sun standing still shows us that when we align ourselves with God’s will, the creation itself bends to His purpose. Faith without obedience is incomplete; obedience without faith is powerless. Together, they unlock God’s victory in our lives.

As we can see, Joshua marched all night by obeying God’s command, and God fought for Israel. In the same way, when we step forward in obedience, whether in forgiving someone, serving faithfully, or standing firm in truth, God moves in ways beyond our imagination. The hailstones, the confusion of the enemy, the sun standing still, all these testify that God honors faith expressed through obedience. Victory is not earned by effort alone; it is given when we trust and obey.

After hearing today’s message, let’s reflect and ask ourselves:
• Are we obeying God fully, or only when it feels convenient?
• Do we trust God’s promises enough to step into battles that seem bigger than us?
• Where in our life do we need to let faith and obedience work together?
• Are we willing to march through the “night” in obedience, believing God will bring the victory?

Every one of us knows what it feels like to be worn down by work, by expectations, by struggles that seem endless. Yet in Christ, renewal is not just a fresh start; it is a victorious reign. Paul reminds us that through Jesus, reconciliation is not partial but complete, and grace is not scarce but overflowing. Renewal is not about surviving, it is about reigning with confidence, hope, and joy.

In Romans 5, it declares that where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. Renewal in Christ is not a patch on old wounds; it is a transformation that lifts us from defeat into victory. To reign in life means we no longer live under condemnation, but under the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. Renewal is not passive, it is active, a daily choice to walk in the victory Christ has already won.

Let’s think of how we often live as though we are still chained, whether it is chained to guilt, chained to fear, and/or chained to the past. But the cross has broken those chains. Renewal means by stepping out of the tomb of despair and into the reign of grace. Victorious living is not arrogance; it is humble confidence that Christ’s victory is ours. It is choosing to live not as victims of circumstance, but as children of God who reign through His power.

After hearing today’s message, let’s reflect upon it:
• Are we living renewed, or are we still clinging to old chains?

• Do we believe that grace truly abounds more than our failures?

• How can we reign in life today not by our strength, but by Christ’s gift of righteousness?

• What would change in our family, workplace, or community if we lived as one reconciled and victorious in Christ?

To be honest, we often think that blessings are those things which we received like ‘Comfort, Provision of Good Food & Health or even Successful Career/ Stable Job.’ But God’s call to Abram shows something deeper: ‘We are blessed so that we may become a blessing.’ In our ordinary routines, whether at workplace, at the dinning table or even in the quiet moments of our personal space, we are placed by God to carry His love into the world. Jesus reminds us that the mark of His disciples is not status or achievement, but love that is lived out in real human ways.

In Genesis 12, it reveals to us that God’s blessing is never meant to stop with us. It flows outward, touching families, communities, even nations. While in John 13, it sharpens this truth that love is the evidence of discipleship. To be God’s blessing means allowing His love to overflow through us by turning simple acts of Kindness, Forgiveness and Service into the channels of His Kingdom. It is not about grand gestures, but about being faithful of where we are, so that others will be able to taste God’s goodness through us.

Being God’s blessing is not abstract, it is embodied in how we treat one another. A smile to someone weary, patience in a tense moment, generosity when it costs us, all these are the ways God’s promise to Abram continues through us today. We are not just individuals trying to survive, we are carriers of divine love that stationed in our workplaces, families, and communities to show Christ’s heart.

After hearing today’s message shared by Sis Hui Hui, let’s spend some time in quiet moment to reflect during this week:

• Who around us today needs to feel God’s blessing through our words or actions?

• Are we holding God’s blessing tightly for ourselves or letting it flow outward?

• How can we show Christ’s love & blessing regardless of any places/locations that we have been placed?

• If love is the mark of discipleship, what would others see in us right now?

• What’s the point of being “successful” if our success does not overflow into someone else’s hope?

We know the sting of life, grief when we lose someone, fear when sickness strikes, guilt when we fail, and shame when we hide. These are real, human feelings. Yet Easter declares something astonishing: “Death itself, the greatest fear of all, has been swallowed up in victory.” The cross absorbed our guilt, the grave was emptied of its power, and the resurrection shouts that life is not fragile, it is eternal in Christ.

When Paul cries, “Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55 NASB), he is not denying our pain. He is proclaiming that pain does not get the final word. Isaiah echoes: “He will swallow up death for all time,
And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the disgrace of His people from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken” (Isaiah 25:8 NASB). Easter is not just a doctrine, it is God’s promise breaking into our human story.

Easter tells us that:
• Death is defeated – Sin was the sting, but Christ bore it fully.

• Life is eternal – Resurrection is not only for tomorrow; it begins now, reshaping how we live today.

• Love is stronger than fear – God’s love in Christ transforms guilt into forgiveness, despair into hope, and endings into beginnings.

This is not abstract theology, it is the most human truth. Every tear we cry, every ache we feel, every longing for justice and peace finds its answer in the risen Christ. Easter means our lives are not defined by endings, but by God’s endless love.

Easter is not just about what happens after death, it is about how we live before it. If death has no sting, then we are free to live boldly, love deeply, forgive generously, and hope unshakably. The resurrection is not only Christ’s victory, it is ours, shared with us, lived through us, and shining in us.

Let’s take some quiet moment to reflect after hearing today’s message:

1. Where in our life are we still living as if death or sin has the final word?

2. How does the resurrection free us to love more courageously today?

3. What tears or fears do we need to entrust to God, believing He will wipe them away?

4. How can our daily lifestyle, whether it is work, family, friendships, become a foretaste of eternal life?

5. Who around us needs to hear, through our words and actions, that death has no sting?

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
John 19:30 (NKJV)

In obedience, Jesus fulfilled God's redemption plan for mankind. He faced mockery and accusations. He accepted the judgement. He took His place on on the cross. He gave up His life. He died for you and for all of us. Such is an act of deep obedience and great sacrificial love.

Let us pause to reflect on the journey and depth that Jesus undertook for us. Let us remember with thanksgiving this gift of redemption given to us. May this Good Friday be a reminder to you of how you are deeply loved!

We often feels like a whirlwind in terms of deadlines, family responsibilities, the constant rush of public transport and crowded place. In the middle of this fast-paced rhythm, we sometimes lose patience with ourselves, with others, even with God. Yet Nahum reminds us of something deeply comforting: ‘Our God is slow to anger and great in power.’

This means He does not flare up like we do when things go wrong. His patience is not weakness, it is mercy. His power is not distant, it is active, unstoppable, and always working for His people. Just as storms remind us of forces beyond our control, Nahum tells us that God’s justice and love are far greater than human pride, cruelty, or failure.

• Slow to Anger → God’s patience gives us room to repent, to grow, to change. He waits because His love is covenantal, not conditional.

• Great in Power → His patience is not passivity. When the time comes, He acts with unstoppable authority. Nineveh’s downfall shows that no empire, no arrogance, no sin can stand against Him.

• For Us Today → This verse is both comfort and warning. Comfort, because God’s mercy covers our weakness. Warning, because His justice will not overlook guilt.

We do often confuse patience with weakness. But God’s patience is strength, the strength to hold back wrath so that grace may abound.

Let’s think of the times we have lost our temper too quickly, with our children, our spouse, our colleagues. God is not like us. He holds back, He waits, He gives space for repentance. That patience is meant to inspire us to live differently: ‘Merciful, Forgiving, Steadfast.’

But His power also reminds us: ‘Mercy is not forever ignored.’ Just as Nineveh fell after turning back to evil, our lives too must be built on true repentance, not superficial rituals.

Let’s all of us reflect after hearing today’s message:
1. When was the last time we confused God’s patience with weakness?

2. Are we living in true repentance, or just outward compliance?

3. How can we reflect God’s slowness to anger in our relationships this week?

4. Do we trust His power enough to surrender our plans to His timing?
