新加坡佛教总会会长广品法师卫塞庆典讲稿：

主宾代交通部长暨财政部高级政务部长萧振祥先生、大德法师、各位居士、宗教领袖及来宾：

早安！

首先，广品代表新加坡全体佛教徒感谢总理黄循财先生，资政，副总理，部长们，包括今天的主宾萧振祥代部长，高级政务部长及政务部长，政务次长，国会议长，国会议员，政府机构，联合国秘书长，亚细安办事处，友教首领，友校，工商团体等送来如雪花般的卫塞祝贺。谨此祝您们身心安康！万事如意！

人类生活离不开群体，无论在家庭、学校、职场或社会中，都需要与他人相处。若要彼此和谐共处、减少矛盾，就必须主动广结善缘。佛法告诉我们，善因得善果，恶因得恶果。因此，要建设祥和的家庭、社会、国家乃至世界，广结善缘是十分重要的。
广结善缘不仅是表面的友好往来，更应以慈悲心和利他心与众生建立真诚、清净的关系。佛法强调“心为万法之本”，若能常怀善念、言语柔和、行为端正，自然能够与人和睦相处。在日常生活中，多体谅他人、多说善语、多行善事，善缘便会不断累积，未来也将收获福报。

同时，我们要乐于布施。布施不仅是物质上的给予，也包括法布施与无畏施。当他人有困难时伸出援手，在别人迷惘时给予鼓励，在他人恐惧时给予安慰与支持。这样不仅能帮助别人，也能减少自私与执著，培养宽广的胸怀，增长福德。

此外，我们应学会包容与感恩，以宽容心接纳他人的不足，以感恩心面对顺境与逆境，将困难的人际关系视为修行与成长的机会，从中增长智慧。

更重要的是，行善不求回报，以真诚慈悲心默默付出。长期坚持，心地自然清净，福慧也会不断增长。

总而言之，广结善缘不在于结交多少朋友，而在于时时存善念、处处行善事。以慈悲为本、智慧为导，持续种下善因，必能让人生更加快乐，社会更加和谐，国家更加安定，世界更加和平。

VESAK SPEECH BY VEN SECK KWANG PHING, PRESIDENT OF SINGAPORE BUDDHIST FEDERATION ON 7 JUN 2026

Guest of Honour Mr Jeffrey Siow; Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance, Venerables; lay devotees; religious leaders; distinguished guests:

Good morning!

First and foremost, on behalf of the Buddhist communities of Singapore, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Senior Minister，Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers including Mr Jeffrey Siow, our G.O.H. today, Senior Ministers of State and Ministers of State, Parliamentary Secretaries, the Speaker of Parliament, Members of Parliament, governmental agencies, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, ASEAN Office, leaders of our religious communities, our fellow schools, business and community organizations etc for your countless Vesak Day well wishes that have poured in like snowflakes. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all good health, peace of mind, and every success in your endeavours.

As members of society, we should cultivate wholesome affinities and positive relationships to create harmony in our families, communities, and the world. Buddhism teaches that the mind is the source of all actions. When we think kindly, speak gently, and act with integrity, we naturally foster understanding and goodwill.

We should also practise generosity by helping those in need, sharing wisdom, and offering comfort to others. Such acts reduce selfishness, expand our compassion, and cultivate blessings.

Equally important are tolerance and gratitude. By accepting others’ shortcomings and viewing challenges as opportunities for growth, we develop greater wisdom and compassion.

Finally, let us do good without expecting anything in return. When our actions arise from sincere compassion and are carried out consistently, we contribute to a more harmonious society and a more peaceful world.

Lastly, I sincerely wish everyone a Joyful Vesak. May you be blessed with wisdom, merit, peace, and happiness.
