Offshore Vasudhara Jungter Ritual 2026: A Rare Opportunity to Cultivate Abundance

We are delighted to share more about the Offshore Vasudhara Jungter Ritual 2026, a sacred Tibetan Buddhist ceremony dedicated to Vasudhara (Tib. Nor gyun ma), the revered Goddess of Wealth, Prosperity, and Generosity.

This profound puja, rooted in the Jungter (Terma) tradition of “Revealed Treasures” discovered by great masters, offers an authentic and powerful opportunity to remove karmic obstacles, cultivate generosity, and create the causes for lasting success and spiritual growth.

About the Ritual

Vasudhara, whose name means “Stream of Treasure” or “Bearer of Gems,” is a Buddhist goddess of abundance who blesses practitioners with both material prosperity and spiritual wealth. While her blessings address worldly needs, they are ultimately intended to remove obstacles to spiritual practice, enabling practitioners to cultivate ethics, meditation, and wisdom. Her practice is traditionally performed to alleviate suffering, remove poverty, and generate resources.

In Tibetan Buddhism, she is invoked through the Nor gyun ma Puja, the “Wealth Stream Mother Practice,” which emphasises the threefold generosity of material giving, Dharma teaching, and fearlessness. She is also regarded as the consort of the wealth deity Jambhala and an emanation of Buddha Ratnasambhava, the embodiment of generosity among the Five Tathāgatas.

The Nor gyun Jungter Ritual is drawn from the Terma tradition, hidden treasures revealed by great masters at times when their blessings are most needed, ensuring that the blessings remain potent and relevant in the modern world.

Ritual Highlights: A Journey into Nature

This special offshore ritual integrates oceanic and island offerings, reflecting the richness and boundlessness of Vasudhara’s blessings. Participants will begin the morning at Changi Point Ferry Terminal and travel by boat to a designated location for sacred sea offerings, followed by a continuation to Pulau Ubin for island based pujas.

Sea Offering

Travel by boat to an offshore site where Treasure Pouches are respectfully offered into the sea. These pouches symbolise wealth, wishes, and obstacles released into the domain of enlightened energy, representing purification, renewal, and the letting go of karmic burdens. The ocean offering (chu sbyin) is a traditional Buddhist practice of water offerings, which when performed with sincere devotion can help clear hindrances and accumulate vast merit.

Pulau Ubin Rituals

On the serene island of Pulau Ubin, participants will gather for the Smoke Offering (Sang) Puja, a powerful practice that purifies karmic debts, cleanses negative energies, and invites positive influences and auspicious conditions.

This rare and meaningful outdoor Buddhist ritual offers numerous benefits:

- Receive blessings of wealth and success: Invoke Vasudhara’s grace for financial stability and prosperity.

- Remove financial and karmic obstacles: Clear away hindrances to abundance through sacred offerings.

- Create causes for spiritual growth: Align your life with the enlightened energy of generosity.

- Participate in a rare nature based Buddhist ritual: Experience the profound integration of ocean and island ceremonies.

- Accumulate vast merit: Dedicate merit for yourself, your loved ones, and all sentient beings.

Whether you seek material stability, resources to support others, or a deeper connection with spiritual abundance, this ritual offers a profound opportunity to align your life with Vasudhara’s compassionate and enlightened energy.

With folded hands,

Dear all,

With a heart that is both reverent and tender, we share the news of the successful completion of the Sand Mandala Dissolution Ritual on Monday, 1 June 2026. This sacred ceremony, followed by the seaside offering, brought our eleven day journey to a meaningful and beautiful close.

Understanding the Dissolution Ritual

The dissolution of a sand mandala is far from a simple act of dismantling. In Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism, it is considered the most important and powerful phase of the entire mandala practice. After days of meticulous devotion, during which millions of grains of sand were placed with mantra and meditation, the mandala is ceremonially swept away. This is not viewed as loss or destruction. It is the deliberate and compassionate completion of the teaching.

The dissolution ritual represents the profound Buddhist truth of impermanence. Everything that arises, including beauty, effort, identity, achievement, and life itself, will eventually pass away. Wisdom does not come from avoiding this reality. Wisdom comes from engaging fully without clinging. By creating perfection and then releasing it, the monks demonstrate that true peace lies not in holding on, but in letting go with love.

The Blessing of the Sand on Our Crowns

During the dissolution ritual at 9:00 am, after the mandala was swept into a sacred vessel, the blessed sand was gently placed on the crown of each participant's head. This simple yet profound act carries deep meaning.

In Buddhist understanding, the crown of the head is considered the most sacred part of the body, associated with the crown chakra and the seat of spiritual receptivity. When the blessed sand touches this point, it is believed to plant powerful seeds of enlightenment directly into one's consciousness. Each grain has been empowered through days of chanting, visualization, and ritual intention. Receiving it on the crown is a direct blessing from Yamantaka, the Destroyer of Death, conferring protection, purification, and a deep karmic connection to the deity.

Participants often describe feeling a gentle warmth, a sudden stillness, or a wave of peace during this moment. It is a rare and precious opportunity to receive such a tangible blessing.

The Seaside Offering at 10:00 am

Following the dissolution, the community proceeded to the seaside. There, the blessed sand was offered into the flowing water with elaborate prayers and visualizations. This act is deeply symbolic and compassionate. The water carries the sand outward, and with it, the blessings of the mandala are spread throughout the world. The sand reaches all sentient beings, visible and invisible, near and far. Fish, birds, insects, and even beings in realms we cannot see receive the blessings.

In Vajrayana philosophy, water is seen as a particularly effective vehicle for blessing because it flows without obstruction and connects all living things. By offering the sand into the sea, the monks ensure that the purification, protection, and wisdom cultivated during the mandala's creation touch every corner of the universe. This act transforms a local ritual into a global gift.

The Benefits of Witnessing and Participating

For those who attended either the dissolution or the seaside ceremony, the benefits are immense. Witnessing the dissolution with an open heart is said to create a powerful imprint of impermanence in the mind. This imprint gradually weakens attachment, reduces anxiety about change, and fosters a lighter, more peaceful way of living.

Receiving the sand on the crown purifies negative karma accumulated over many lifetimes. It is a profound blessing that plants the seed of liberation. Participating in the seaside offering generates enormous merit, as one becomes part of a compassionate act dedicated to the benefit of all beings.

Even for those who could not be present physically, holding the intention to honor impermanence and dedicate merit to others carries its own blessing.

A Final Reflection

The Yamantaka Sand Mandala has now returned to its elemental form. What remains is the imprint of its blessings in our hearts and minds. We are deeply grateful to the monks for their tireless devotion, to Geshe Lama Konchok for his compassionate guidance, and to every single person who joined us in prayer, presence, or spirit.

May the wisdom of impermanence bring you peace. May the blessings of Yamantaka protect and guide you. And may all beings everywhere benefit from this sacred offering.

With folded hands and deepest gratitude,

Dear all,

We are delighted to share about the Vajrayogini Fire Puja (金刚瑜伽母火供), a dynamic and blissful practice that was successfully completed as part of our sacred Vesak Day observances. This profound ceremony holds deep meaning and offers immense benefits to all who participate, whether in person or from a distance.

Who Is Vajrayogini?

Vajrayogini is one of the most revered deities in Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism. She is the female Buddha of enlightened wisdom, passion, and fierce compassion. Her striking form, often depicted in vibrant red, represents the transformative power of bliss and awareness. Unlike ordinary emotions that bind us, Vajrayogini's energy transforms desire into wisdom and attachment into spontaneous compassion. She is considered a swift path to enlightenment, especially for those with strong emotions and a sincere wish to awaken.

What Is a Fire Puja?

A fire puja, known as a Jinsek in Tibetan, is a ta***ic ritual in which offerings are made into a consecrated fire. The fire itself is understood as the mouth of the deity, a sacred conduit through which offerings are transformed and blessings are received. In the case of the Vajrayogini Fire Puja, each offering, whether rice, butter, sesame seeds, or symbolic tormas, is visualized as the pure essence of body, speech, and mind. As the offerings are made, mantras are chanted with focused meditation, creating a powerful exchange of giving and receiving.

The Benefits of the Vajrayogini Fire Puja

This practice is renowned for its swift and powerful effects. One of the primary benefits is the removal of obstacles. These obstacles may be external, such as conflicts or health issues, or internal, such as doubt, laziness, anger, or fear. The fire puja acts as a purifying force, burning away negativity and clearing the path for positive growth.

Another profound benefit is the transformation of negative emotions. Vajrayogini's special power lies in her ability to take strong emotions, including desire, pride, and jealousy, and transmute them into their wisdom essence. Rather than suppressing or rejecting these feelings, the practice teaches us to embrace their energy and redirect it toward awakening. This is an extraordinarily liberating approach.

The puja also brings spiritual realizations. For dedicated practitioners, it can accelerate progress on the path, leading to greater clarity, bliss, and insight into the nature of mind. Even for those new to the practice, attending the fire puja plants powerful karmic seeds and creates a deep connection with Vajrayogini, ensuring future encounters with the Dharma.

On a more immediate level, the Vajrayogini Fire Puja is known to bring protection, healing, and an increase in positive energy. Many participants report feeling lighter, clearer, and more joyful after the ceremony. The fire's warmth and the rhythmic chanting create a deeply meditative atmosphere that calms the mind and uplifts the spirit.

Why Vajrayogini Is Considered Special

Among ta***ic deities, Vajrayogini is regarded as especially accessible and swift. Her practice does not require years of preliminary training, though faith and sincere aspiration are essential. She is known as the mother of all Buddhas, and her compassion is said to be especially fierce for those suffering in the modern world. For anyone feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or longing for transformation, Vajrayogini offers a direct and dynamic path.

A Final Reflection

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us for this powerful puja. May Vajrayogini's blessings of swift transformation, fearless compassion, and blissful wisdom remain with you always. May all obstacles be cleared, all negative emotions transformed, and all beings awaken to their true nature.

With folded hands and warmest blessings,

The Maha Tare Buddhist Centre

03/06/2026

Dear all,

With deep joy and reverence, we share that the Taking Refuge in the Triple Gem ceremony (皈依三宝) was successfully completed, bringing a beautiful and intimate close to our Vesak Day observance.

Understanding the Triple Gem 皈依三宝

In Buddhism, the Triple Gem refers to three timeless treasures. The Buddha, not merely as a historical figure but as the embodiment of perfect awakening and compassion. The Dharma, the teachings and path leading to liberation. The Sangha, the community of practitioners who support and inspire one another along the way.

Taking refuge in the Triple Gem is the formal act of placing one's deepest trust and confidence in these three jewels. It marks a meaningful step on the spiritual path, a heartfelt commitment to turn one's life toward awakening, compassion, and ethical living.

Why Take Refuge?

Taking refuge is far more than a ritual. It is a conscious redirection of the heart. In everyday life, we often take refuge in temporary sources of security, such as wealth, status, relationships, or material comforts. While these are not wrong, they are ultimately unreliable because they change and fade. The Triple Gem, by contrast, offers a stable and genuine refuge because it points to the unchanging truth of how things really are.

When one takes refuge in the Buddha, one aspires to cultivate the same awakening mind. When one takes refuge in the Dharma, one commits to studying and practicing the path of wisdom and compassion. When one takes refuge in the Sangha, one finds support, guidance, and companionship on the journey.

The Benefits of Taking Refuge

The benefits of this ceremony are both immediate and far reaching. First and foremost, it plants powerful karmic seeds for future liberation. In Buddhist understanding, the moment one sincerely takes refuge, the trajectory of one's spiritual life shifts toward awakening. It is said that even if one's practice wavers in this life, the refuge commitment ensures that one will continue to encounter the Dharma in future lives until liberation is attained.

Taking refuge also provides protection from fear and despair. When life feels uncertain or difficult, remembering one's refuge in the Triple Gem offers stability, courage, and a sense of purpose. It reminds us that we are never truly alone. The Buddha's example, the Dharma's guidance, and the Sangha's companionship are always available.

Additionally, the refuge ceremony fosters a deep sense of belonging. Participants become part of the larger Buddhist family that spans across traditions, cultures, and even centuries. This connection alleviates feelings of isolation and inspires continued practice.

On a more immediate level, taking refuge encourages ethical living. The commitment naturally leads one to avoid harmful actions and cultivate kindness, honesty, and mindfulness. This, in turn, brings greater peace, better relationships, and a lighter heart.

A Beautiful Closing to Vesak Day

For those who participated in this ceremony, it was a truly heartfelt and intimate experience. Many shared feeling a profound sense of clarity, safety, and joy. The evening concluded with gentle prayers and aspirations for all beings to find the same refuge.

We warmly invite anyone who feels drawn to this path to speak with us about future refuge ceremonies. The door is always open.

With folded hands and warmest blessings,
