Brighton Community Church was founded and started gathering on the first Sunday of 1999 with 70 worshippers at the Cathay Pavilion Cineplex in Tampines Town Centre. Many people have wondered whether we have any connection with an English football club. The origin of the name Brighton can be traced back to the 1960s when a group of youths began gathering for weekly Saturday meetings in Brighton Cre

scent near Serangoon Gardens . The youths called themselves the Brighton Youth Fellowship (BYF). Many of the founders of this church grew up and were discipled in BYF, including our founding and Senior Pastor Wang Tiak Kweng, who joined BYF as a 13-year-old boy in 1980. When they started this church, they elected to retain the Brighton name as it symbolized their desire to win people and build them up to become multiplying disciples.

Embracing the warmth of Christmas on 21 December at Brighton 🤍
A joyful and beautiful morning spent with our Brightonites and loved ones at our Christmas Service, Candlelight Service, and Carnival 🎄🕯️🎪✨

As we gathered this Christmas, we were reminded that Jesus is the greatest gift we celebrate — the true heart and meaning of this season 🫶🏻

May His light continue to guide your heart, bringing peace and joy this Christmas and in every season 🤍💫

Christmas is often imagined as cosy and joyful, filled with gatherings and gifts. Yet the first Christmas was far from warm and comfortable. The events surrounding the first Christmas appear to be random and chaotic, but a closer study shows that they were perfectly orchestrated by God according to His purpose and fulfilled in the fullness of time. The message of Christmas is that the same God continues to work in the same way in our lives today 🤍
