Donate to the Medical and Basic Needs of Myanmar Civilian War Casualties.
Dear brothers and sisters:
We've just celebrated Christmas and the New Year. And in less than 2 weeks time, we'll celebrate both the Lunar New Year and the Losar (Tibetan New Year). All around the globe, the atmosphere is one of joy and happiness; or that's how it appeared to be.
However, a reality check will review that no lesser than 15 countries in the world are currently at war! The nearest to us here in Singapore being the civil war in Myanmar.
According to The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data group, as at 12 January 2024, this civil war has claimed 45,264 lives. And according to our Centre's medical volunteer currently stationed at one of the civilian hospital, majority of the civilians are in hiding and living in make shift accomodation in forests and jungles.
The 40 bedder hospital where our medical volunteer sister is stationed serves a whole community of close to 60,000 civilians. They are all living in hiding within the forest nearby. And only 2 groups of doctors and nurses serve the patients 24 hours daily.
As expected, medical supply is an issue but recently, a supply chain through a neighbouring country is established. Our volunteer sister will share a pdf list of medication which the hospital urgently require. We'll share it in our next update. However, a preliminary study by our local doctor friends conducted together with the doctors over at Myanmar side has helped determine that the list is reasonable and good.
These are all essential medication that the hospital needs in order to keep their patients alive, dear brothers and sisters! We estimated that for a month supply, the cost in Singapore Dollar is close to 12,000.00 (Twelve Thousand).
As the saying goes: the resulting merit from saving a life is infinitely more than building a 7 storey high stupa (救人一命，胜造七级浮屠). Drikung Dharma Chakra Centre wishes that everyone of us can within our means, donate to such a good cause.

3. Long Life, Good Health, Prosperity and Progress for Adult Sponsors.
