The Crossing Is Worth It

✨ GRAPHIC CALLOUT

"Forget the former things. Behold — He is doing something new."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We have walked through the threshold together over this series.

And here is what I want to leave you with today:

Cross over. The Crossing Is Worth It.

Do not slumber through your threshold moment.

High tension has a way of making people freeze — to wait for the feeling to pass, to postpone the decision, to sleep through the appointed time.

Do not let that be you.

Be fully attuned to what the Lord is doing. You will have much praises, thanksgiving and testimonies to tell in time to come. The moment is to collect these is now.

▪️ And do not go back for the former things.

The Red Sea was glorious. God’s faithfulness there was real and it was beautiful.

But you are not at the Red Sea anymore.

Looking back at what God did then, and demanding He do it the same way now, will keep you on the wrong side of the Jordan.

Remember God’s faithfulness, and move on.

📖 The preceding command for Isaiah 43:19 is in verse 18:

"Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old."

Then,

"Behold, I am doing a new thing — do you not perceive it?" (Isaiah 43:19).

✨ Perceive it.

✨ The other side is abundance.

✨ The other side is inheritance.

✨ The other side is the fullness of what He promised you.

Step in.

❓ What new thing is God doing in your life right now?

💬 Share it in the comments — let’s believe together for one another.

Traversing the Tension

✨ GRAPHIC CALLOUT

"You haven't been this way before. Consecrate. Listen. Borrow courage if you need to."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Tension is what happens when something is pulled in two directions at once. At a threshold, that feels like the pull to stay back and the pull to move forward — both at the same time. Both real. Both strong.

How do you keep the pull backwards from winning?

▪️ Consecrate yourself (Joshua 3:5).

Set aside time to fast and pray. Seek the Lord intentionally. Cut out, or severely limit, distractions. At a threshold, you need a clear vision of what God has ahead of you — and you cannot hear clearly when your life is full of noise.

▪️ Follow God’s instructions. Follow God’s instructions. Follow God’s instructions.

You have not passed this way before (Joshua 3:4). This is not the moment to default to what you have always done. This is the moment to listen closely and obey specifically.

▪️ Borrow courage if you need to.

In Joshua 3, the priests carrying the ark went first — into a Jordan that was still overflowing its banks. It was only when their feet touched the water that the waters parted (Joshua 3:15).

They stepped before they could see the way.

And their courage signalled safety for everyone who followed.

If you are feeling intimidated at your threshold, find your priests. Seek out pastors and mentors who have gone ahead of you. Let God’s confirmation through them give you the courage to step in.

❓ Who is a “priest” in your life — someone whose obedience has given you the courage to move?

Or:

❓ What is one distraction you need to cut in order to hear God clearly right now?

Thresholds Are Points of Levelling Up

✨ GRAPHIC CALLOUT

"Your threshold is God's appointed edge between who you were and who you're becoming."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

A threshold, by definition, is “the level or point at which you start to experience something, or at which something starts to happen.” It is the edge between what was and what will be. It is the place where a decision changes everything.

For Israel at the Jordan, crossing meant moving into an entirely different way of living:

▪️ From wandering to settling — from a life always in transit, to planting roots and building inheritance.

▪️ From receiving provision to exercising dominion — from manna appearing daily, to cultivating and stewarding the land God gives.

▪️ From living for survival to governing with purpose — from getting through each day, to stewarding a territory for generations to come.

Yes — it sounds like more responsibility. And it is. But I submit to you, it is also more life.

✨ Here are three truths about thresholds in your spiritual walk:

▪️ They are not punishment — they are moments of grace to inherit God’s purpose for you.

▪️ They are not tests designed to fail you — they are moments of higher calling into destiny.

▪️ They are not accidental — they are God’s appointed times for you.

God does not bring you to a threshold to leave you there. He brings you to a threshold because there is something on the other side that He has already prepared for you.

❓ Reflect on a recent threshold you crossed.

❓ What changed in how you relate to God, or in what He has asked of you, on the other side?

Recognising a Threshold

✨ GRAPHIC CALLOUT

*"Same God. Same water. Different threshold. Do you recognise what's new?"*

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Israel had done this before. Impossible water. No way through. And yet — God made a way.

40 years earlier, their parents stood at the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s army closing in behind them. God parted the waters, and they walked through on dry ground. It was a miracle that defined a generation.

But Joshua 3 is not the Red Sea. And I submit to you — God was not asking them to relive the Red Sea. He was asking them to recognise something new.

Here is what was different at the Jordan:

▪️ At the Red Sea, the enemy was behind them — they were running from bo***ge. At the Jordan, the enemy was in front of them — they were advancing into territory (Joshua 3:10).

▪️ At the Red Sea, the waters parted first — then they walked through. At the Jordan, the priests had to step into the overflowing water first — then the waters parted (Joshua 3:15).

▪️ At the Red Sea, they crossed from slavery into freedom. At the Jordan, they crossed from wilderness into inheritance.

✨ Same God. Same water. Very different threshold.

And this matters for us today. The Christian journey does not end at salvation — salvation is the beginning. The journey climbs from there: into maturity, into spiritual responsibility, into governing all that God has placed in our hands. Likewise, bringing a friend to Christ is not the finish line; it is the starting gun for discipleship.

God says, “Behold, I am doing a new thing — do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19). He is not asking you to keep replaying your last miracle. He is asking you to recognise what He is doing right now.

❓ Are you praying the same prayers at a new threshold?

❓ Have you asked the Lord what is different about where you are standing today?

📖 INTRO POST

Tension in the Threshold

✨GRAPHIC CALLOUT

"At the threshold, you already know — nothing on the other side will be the same."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

You know that feeling — standing at the edge of the board before a bungee jump. Or in the open door of a plane before a skydive. Everything in you knows that in a moment, nothing will be the same.

That is the feeling at a threshold.

In Joshua 3, the children of Israel stood at one of those moments. The Jordan River was in front of them — flooded, overflowing its banks — and the Promised Land was on the other side. This was the moment their whole lives had been shaped for. They had heard about it as children. They had been reminded of it every time the camp moved. And now, here they were. At the edge.

But thresholds are not simple. They carry tension. The pull forward and the pull backward at the same time.

Over the next few posts, we are going to look at what God’s word teaches us about standing at a threshold:

▪️ How to recognise a threshold — and why this one is different from the last

▪️ Why thresholds are actually points of levelling up

▪️ How to traverse the tension and cross over

Are you standing at a threshold right now?

👉 Follow along — this series is for you.

📖 Read Joshua chapter 3 today to prepare for the ride!

✨ YOUR POSTURE DIAGNOSTIC ✨

📖 John 17:18
“As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them.”

Before you enter your next shared space —
pause for a moment and run this diagnostic. 💭

✨ Be Aware
Remind yourself:
“I am the naos — God’s dwelling place.
I bring His presfluence into this room.” 🕊️

You are not entering that space alone.
God’s Spirit dwells within you.

✨ Be Present
Don’t withdraw.
Don’t rush through people.
Engage genuinely.

Slow down enough to notice people, carry peace, and let your Christ-rooted presence fill the atmosphere. 🤍

✨ Be Distinct
Let the fruit of the Spirit shape your presfluence:
🌿 love
🌿 joy
🌿 peace
🌿 patience
🌿 kindness
🌿 goodness
🌿 faithfulness
🌿 gentleness
🌿 self-control

Don’t be conformed to the spirit of the room.
Carry the Spirit of Christ into it instead. ✨

Every shared space becomes different when believers show up aware, present, and rooted.

💭 What shared space are you entering next — and how are you planning to show up?

✨ PRESENT, BUT NOT ABSORBED ✨

📖 John 17:15–18
“Keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the
world.”

When you enter shared spaces, ask yourself:

Am I withdrawing… or assimilating? 💭

🚪 Withdrawing
Stepping back.
Avoiding people.
Self-isolating.

🌊 Assimilating
Blending in too much.
Compromising convictions.
Losing your identity to fit the room.

Jesus never called us to disappear from the world.
But He also never called us to become indistinguishable from it.

So what’s the balance?

✨ Be present, but rooted.
✨ Be engaged, but never absorbed.

We are called to carry Christ into everyday spaces without losing who we are in Him. 🤍

That means:
🌿 loving people without compromising truth
🌿 staying compassionate without conforming
🌿 remaining grounded while fully engaged
🌿 bringing light into spaces without letting darkness shape us

Lot’s story in S***m (Genesis 19) is a sobering reminder of what can happen when
we slowly blend in too much.

The call of Jesus is different:
Stay distinct while remaining engaged. 🕊️

Not isolated.
Not absorbed.
But anchored.

💭 In today’s culture, do you find yourself more tempted to withdraw or assimilate?

✨ YOU HAVE “PRESFLUENCE” ✨

📖 Matthew 5:13–14
“You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world.”

Presence creates influence.
We call it presfluence. 🌿✨

And here’s the radical part:

Your presfluence isn’t mainly about what you do.
It’s about who you are.

In a world obsessed with image, performance, and attention, Jesus points us
somewhere deeper. 🤍

By simply being genuine, grounded, and rooted in Christ, you begin shaping the atmosphere around you.

No striving.
No pretending.
No performance required.

Just presence.

Sometimes it looks like:
🌿 bringing peace into anxious spaces
🌿 carrying calm into chaos
🌿 showing kindness when others choose harshness
🌿 remaining steady when everyone else is reacting
🌿 reflecting Christ without needing the spotlight

That’s presfluence.

People may not always remember every word you said —
but they will remember the spirit you carried into the room. 🕊️

💭 Are you aware of your presfluence in everyday spaces?

💭 Do you know someone with unmistakable God-centered presfluence?
How do you see it in their life?

✨ YOU CARRY GOD INTO THE ROOM ✨

📖 1 Corinthians 3:16
“You are God’s naos and God’s Spirit dwells in you.”

Naos.
The Greek word for the sanctuary — God’s inner dwelling place, not just the wider temple. 🕊️

This changes everything.

God is not someone you simply visit on Sundays.
God is a reality you carry every single day. 🤍

The place of worship isn’t only a building you enter.
The place of worship is within you.

Every shared space you enter, God enters with you.
You bring worship into the room. . ✨

Not through performance.
Not through pretending.
But through a life rooted in Him.

Sometimes the atmosphere changes when certain people walk in:
🌿 Peace replaces tension
🌿 Hope replaces heaviness
🌿 Kindness softens hearts
🌿 Wisdom calms confusion

That’s the beauty of carrying God’s presence into everyday spaces.

💭 Have you ever experienced someone bringing God’s presence into a room?
What changed when they entered?

✨ GOD ENTERED SHARED SPACE FIRST ✨

📖 1 Corinthians 3:16
“You are God’s temple and God’s Spirit dwells in you.”

The world is not a place God avoids.
It’s a place He enters. 🌏

From Creation…
To the tabernacle…
To Christ stepping into humanity…
To His Spirit dwelling in you today — God has always chosen to share space with people. 🙏

He’s not new to this.

So when God sends you into shared spaces — your workplace, classroom, café, MRT ride, family gathering, or everyday conversations — you’re not beginning
something unfamiliar.

You’re continuing what God has always done. ✨

Every room you enter carries an opportunity for His presence, peace, wisdom, and light to be revealed through you.

This mission didn’t start with us.
But we’ve been invited into it. 🤍

💭 How does it feel to carry forward a mission that transcends generations?
