Cannot remember (since COVID-19) when was the last time we gathered to fellowship, get to know new friends and share lives with one another unhurriedly. Our hearts are so full with the stories that were shared. Till the next five30 dinner! Hope to see you next month!

Five30 Grilling on the Mount

It was a great time of fellowship over food on a Saturday evening as the five30 service was cancelled due to F1.

Many had proactively helped to set up the fire and cook the food, others have brought their cameras to capture these memorable moments. We are thankful for the conversations and bonding that took place.

Above all, we thank God for keeping this community under His wings and blessing us with the cooling weather!

In line with the latest government advisory (25 Jan 2022), the five30 service will be open to persons who are vaccinated starting from 5 Feb 2022.

The capacity of the service will remain at 50pax and reviewed in due time.

We would like to remind worshippers to stay home if you are feeling unwell and follow MOH protocols during this period of time. Let’s exercise social responsibility and keep Cathedral safe!

In the concluding sermon in the series on Colossians, we see how to witness wisely. The focus is on our walk and talk. Our walk refers to the way we live or the things that we do. We are to walk by making the best use of time (v5). Our talk must be seasoned with salt (v6). Just as salt was a preservative in Bible times (extending the “shelf life” of food in an age without refrigerators), so too our speech must have preservative value. It should have spiritual benefit to the hearer. And it must be gracious, said in kindness and love.

Prayer shouldn’t be a KPI that we feel like we have to meet every morning. Prayer and being in the presence of God should be something that is continued throughout our day, as it is in fact, fundamental to our faith and in all areas of our life, even outside of church. There are many things to pray for but Paul explicitly asked in Colossians for Christians to pray that doors be opened for the gospel, but if a door opens to us, do we have an answer prepared to those who ask us to give a reason for the hope that we have? When was the last time you prayed and asked God for an open door to share the gospel? When did you last share your testimony of faith?
