Some stories remind you that God was there long before you ever thought to look for Him.

This is one of those stories. 🤍

If it resonated with you, pass it on to a friend who might need it today. 💛 And if you’ve been quietly wondering about faith yourself, we’d love to have you at an Alpha run nearby. Link in bio.

Someone taught you how to live, not just how to study.

Maybe a teacher, parent, mentor, or a friend who kept showing up.

In February 2022, Helen was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. She remembered the fear, the helplessness — the uncertainty of how many days she had left.

A friend brought her to a miracle healing service. Although Helen was skeptical, she still went.

That night, Helen accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Two months later, her doctors found no sign of the cancer spreading.
Yet healing was just the beginning.

Helen's faith wavered and she drifted. But in 2024, God reached out again — through a friend who invited her to Alpha.

From the moment Helen walked in, she was welcomed as family. The videos, the discussions, the friendships opened her heart in ways she never imagined. Helen had always been an introvert — but Alpha gave her courage to speak up and share her heart.

Then came the Holy Spirit Weekend. As people prayed over Helen, tears poured down her face. The Holy Spirit was touching the deepest parts of her heart. That was when she understood that she was not alone. God was with her every step of the way.

Through Alpha, she discovered not just faith — but belonging, purpose, and hope.

Alpha is for everyone, everywhere. But what does that actually ask of us?

How can we step beyond our won walls to reach one person, or one community we might otherwise miss?

You give something small: a meal, a room, an hour.

And it grows into something you won't get to measure. That's what it means to plant a seed and pay it forward.

The Mustard Seed Pledge is an invitation to sow, so that someone might discover the Christian faith and encounter Jesus for themselves.

For many of us, the idea of “evangelism” conjures images of street corners, rehearsed scripts, and awkward conversations that end with someone politely backing away. So we stay quiet. We tell ourselves we’re not qualified, not bold enough, not theologically trained enough. And slowly, the calling to share our faith becomes something we outsource to the pastors and the “gifted” ones.

But sharing the gospel was never meant to be a performance. It was meant to be an overflow – of what God has done in your life, shared within the context of a real relationship with your friends and loved ones. You just need to show up and plant the seed in someone’s heart. Others will water it, but God makes it grow. (1 Cor 3:6)

So ditch the Christian jargon. Ask questions. Listen without an agenda. Share your story – not as a blueprint, but as honest evidence of a God who meets people where they are.

If you’ve been waiting until you feel “ready” to share your faith — this is your sign. Be a friend first, and trust God with the rest. The harvest belongs to Him. Faithfulness belongs to us.

Save this or share it with someone who needs the nudge❤️

At 68, Erik wasn't looking for religion — he was looking for a reason to keep going.

What he discovered through Alpha wasn't a set of rules or rehearsed answers. It was a God who had been pursuing him long before he knew to look upward.
His story is proof that no season of darkness is the final word. That it's never too late to be found. And that sometimes, all it takes is one phone call to change everything.
If this story resonates with you, or with someone you know, save this post or share it with a friend. You never know whose story is waiting for its own turning point.
