Toa Payoh Seu Teck Sean Tong 大芭窑修德善堂 The Grand Master’s deeds and benevolence will live forever in the hearts and minds of people. He also studied Buddhism when he was young.

HISTORICAL FACTS

Born on the 29th Day of the 10th Lunar Month (己卯年十月廿九日) in AD1039 during the reign of Emperor Ren Zong of the Song Dynasty (宋仁宗宝元二年). His birth place was in Wen Zhou Prefecture of Zhe Jiang Province (浙江省温州府).His secular name was Lin LingE 林灵噩 and religious name Da Feng 大峰. He was born to a noble family, schooled and qualified as a scholar. The compassionate and benevolent Grand M

aster Da Feng built a stone bridge to ensure the safety of villagers crossing the river at He Ping Village in year AD1127 with his fund raising effort. He even tried to survey the depth of the river, made an estimation of the amount of wood, stone and manpower required for the construction of the bridge. In his lifetime, Grand Master Da Feng urged people to build temples and carry out charitable works. His maxim being “Benefit others for self benefit, rescue others for self rescue. His Temples can been seen today outside of China, in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand where his disciples continue to adhere to his teachings and carry out charitable works guided by His “Five Golden Rules”.

Toa Payoh Seu Teck Sean Tong (TPSTST) currently sponsors two NKF dialysis centers located in Yishun and Toa Payoh.
