CONNECT at YA A ministry that cultivates a deep desire for the Word, enabling every young adult to love, relate to and bring the gospel to those around them

We are the Young Adult Ministry of Bartley Christian Church. If you are currently serving National Service, undergoing Tertiary Education, or in the early years of your career, this Ministry is for you! Our ministry seeks to cultivate a deep desire for the Word, which would enable every young adult to love, relate, and bring the gospel to those around them. As such, all young adults are part a Dis

cipleship Group (DG) that will provide them with a conducive, encouraging, and accountable environment to grow spiritually. Through these DGs, the following 3 areas of our ministry are focused on:

- Learning the Word of God through Bible Study;
- Memorizing bible verses; and
- Emphasizing on discipleship. PM us if you are interested in finding out more! :)

"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." - 2 Timothy 2:2

*YA UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST*

Hi everyone, it's less than one day to our very first YA Missions Retreat this Thursday to Sunday! Whether you'll be joining us in Klang or not, I plead you to join us in prayer over the retreat.

Here are some things you can keep us in prayer for:

1. That our YA team will develop a hunger and understanding of the necessity of missions
2. That the Spirit would ready our hearts to meet with God in this retreat and do His work
3. That God would meet with and refresh every participant
4. That our trip there will not disrupt but aid in the work being done there
5. That the plans we have will go smoothly without major hiccups, especially the things we have to play by ear (e.g. location restrictions for activities). _May we not take this for granted but have eyes to see His hand working among us._

Aside from these pointers, feel free to pray for us as the Spirit leads you to! We appreciate every prayer raised for us. On behalf of the comm, thank you and God bless you!

- Yi Jia (Trip Coordinator)

In anticipation for our upcoming YA Missions Retreat 2019: Witness at Klang, we will be holding a carnival fundraiser at the void deck after both services selling food, snacks, crafts and more. As part of our efforts toward zero-waste, you're also encouraged to either bring your own food storage boxes and cutleries, or purchase these recyclables at the carnival itself. All proceeds will go to support the El Shaddai Learning Centre. We look forward to your generous support!

This year, the YA ministry will be embarking on a Mission Retreat to Klang, Selangor, where we will not only spend time soaking and resting in God's presence but also witnessing His hand at work there through the ElShaddai Refugee Learning Centre.

We hope that through the work and stories of the staff, children, and volunteers, you would be able to get a better understanding of why missions is crucial, what God has been doing in the missions field, and how you can make a difference.

I used to think that engineers had a life relatively free of β€œwork politics”. After all, the stereotypes suggest engineers are shy, awkward and harmless, right? So fresh out of college, I took up a role in a company that provided a service meant for public use, where I could impact the most people –...
