Do Christians celebrate labour day?
No. Here’s goes the logic. Usually.
Well, there’s labour that is secular, in the marketplace, for money.
And then there’s labour in the church, it is holy and not for any monetary gains.
What we call ministry.
So when we read a verse like ‘your labour in the Lord is not in vain’, we automatically assume that ‘labour’ in this case refers to some ministry that we do in the church.
How wrong! And how foolish to exclude the good work done more than 90% of the church.
Teachers, accountants, mechanics, road sweepers , nurses, police and security personnel, students, homemakers, professionals or not, the list goes on. This verse was written to the church, to you and I.
Your labour in the Lord is not in vain.
Happy Labour Day!!
