Baptized in the River of Grace: A Journey of Faith
On May 17, 6 young believers made a life-changing commitment to Christ, stepping into the waters of baptism to declare their faith publicly. Under the guidance of Rev. Alex from Ebeneser Church Medan, and with the faithful assistance of Bro. Peter, each candidate took this sacred step in obedience to God’s call.
Though initial plans were hindered—two swimming pool owners turning them away due to private events—their journey mirrored the trials faced by those who came before them in faith. Instead of discouragement, God revealed His perfect will, leading them to the open embrace of the river—a place symbolic of divine encounters and renewal throughout Scripture.
Just as the Israelites crossed the Jordan (Joshua 3:15-17), and as John the Baptist prepared the way for the Lord by baptizing in the wilderness (Matthew 3:6), these candidates found themselves immersed in God’s living waters, a testament to His sovereign plan. Submerged beneath the river’s current, they surrendered their past, buried with Christ in His death. As they rose, they emerged into newness of life (Romans 6:4), clothed in His righteousness and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
This baptism was more than an event—it was a divine appointment. A declaration of faith, a transformation, and a powerful testimony of God’s unfailing grace. May these young souls walk boldly in His light, strengthened in faith and love, as they embark on this new chapter with Christ.
