On Vesak Day , it is a period of worship and also dedicate our merits to family and friends.

But i feel in this New Generation Times we should also practice
"Strong Gratitude" .

Because Shakyamuni Buddha is also a teacher to all sentient being.

Tibetan Buddhist (Vajrayāna) tradition, the relationship with your spiritual master is considered the root of the entire path to enlightenment.

While material offerings like flowers, fruits, or financial sponsorships to the center are appreciated, the highest form of guru devotion is offering your practice and living in accordance with their advice.

We are very grateful for the presence of Geshe Ma, who is blessing us with her prayers and insights today.

Her guidance reminds us of the importance as we gather to celebrate Vesak Day, we are reminded of the profound teachings of love, compassion, and mindfulness that the Buddha imparted.

In the spirit of Vesak, let us embrace the values of peace and understanding, fostering harmony within ourselves and with those around us.

May the coming days renew our spirits, strengthen our resolve, and guide us toward a future filled with peace and understanding, under the blessing of Geshe Ma.

Why do we make prostrations at the beginning of teaching and prayer?

It is to beat our ego down abit.
Ego never sees the nature of reality.

When we prostrate , we are paying homage to true understanding wisdom.

In fact prostration is to diminish pride and become more grounded in reality.
Otherwise is hard to have space for wisdom understanding.

Nothing can grow in the mind full of pride.
If you know how pride functions and prostrate to wisdom instead. This become very effective and doing so make prostrating a mean of training your mind.

我们为什么在教学和祷告开始时礼拜？

这是为了压低我们的自我。
自我无法理解现实的本质。

礼拜是向真正的智慧致敬。

实际上，礼拜可以减少骄傲，让我们更接地气。
否则，智慧的空间就会变得狭窄。

在骄傲的心中，什么都无法成长。
如果你能理解骄傲并向智慧礼拜，这会非常有效，礼拜也成为训练心灵的方法。

DEPEND ON THE TEACHINGS, NOT THE TEACHER

The Buddha said to Ananda,

Rely on what is taught, not on the teacher.

Rely on what is meant, not on mere words.

Rely on the definitive teaching, not on the provisional.

Rely on nonconceptual wisdom, not on mere intellect.

Preferably, we enter the Dharma and continue pursuing the Dharma because we know the Dharma itself is reliable. We are inspired by the teaching, not the teacher; we are attracted to the truth, not the truth teller.

You may ask, “How does this fit with the Vajrayana view that the guru is essential?” The answer bears repeating again and again:

In the Vajrayana, you transform the guru into more than a person. The guru is the path.
