The Berean Bible Church is a non-denominational independent body of believers in Christ whose goal is to grow in grace and truth of the Holy Scriptures and make Christ known to others. The name Berean is taken from Acts 17:10 -11, and it describes the qualities of the Christians who did not only receive the word of God with all readiness of heart but were also devoted into the study of the scriptu
res. They daily examined the scriptures, and by this, they were known to be unique and noble amongst Christians. When God gave His word, it was delivered within contexts for all to literally understand the scriptures based on its contexts, and thus should all arrive at the same conclusion. The interpretation and meaning of the scriptures are found in their contexts especially when they are studied in a consistent literal theological manner by using the right hermeneutics, one would obviously arrive at the right conclusion. When God spoke His word, it wasn’t in ambiguity. He never spoke one thing to have a different meaning. “ For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints” (1 Corinthians 14:33). Therefore the Berean Bible Church upholds Orthodoxy beliefs and believe that the scriptures MUST be taught in an expository form whether through book, topical or verse by verse studies. We believe that proper exegesis results in the understanding of the context of scriptures and NOT as a result of one’s own personal opinion or selfish motives. Our teachings and preaching are NOT based on programmes; monthly or yearly popular clichés in an attempt to lure people (i.e. my month of financial breakthrough & my year of greatness or the month for all my enemies to die and so on…)
The purpose of the Church (the bride of Christ – 2Corinthians 11:2) is to teach and train-up disciples for Christ so that they would not become conformed to this world, but that they should be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that they may prove what is good and acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Ephesians 4:12 – 16 gives us the mission of the Church. “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: that we henceforth are no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supply, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
This is the mission, and this is our goal. May grace and peace be multiplied you.
