Here's an Open Letter from NION on women's rights and not pinning stuff on Trans and NB folks that isn't theirs to own.

Fabulous news from the Anglican Diocese of Botswana last weekend.

Don't believe it when people tell you women ministers are a sign of the end times and/or that no GMH dominant church will ever accept anything approaching equality.

Reality begs to differ!

Happy Pentecost folks!

This morning I had the opportunity to preach with my OH, something we've never actually done formally before. Choosing to really lean into the different perspectives and approaches we bring, and celebrating how that difference grows our understanding and appreciation of the broadness of God's radical love and invitation. Someone said it was like a "podcast in a pulpit". And that's probably fair!

Lovely to be at a pastorate service with 4 churches gathered together, with a good range of ages, ethnicities, languages, knowledge, musical tastes, mobility, outlook...

I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to make good use of the colouring material and crafts that were also available.

Plus lunch afterwards too.

Thanks for having me Newcastle Central URC 😀

Here's a pic of my asymmetrically red/pink spotty shoes and a selfie of Tony and I in our finest fire coloured clothing!

Hope you all had an inspiring Pentecost too

As today we celebrate "Jesus going up with a loud shout" (Ascension day) so too are York Minster celebrating enabling folk to go up... Though maybe not with such a loud shout?!

Either way, it's a great thing to be able to share the news of their new ramp, unveiled today. The biggest change to their building in a very long time ... And rather well timed as they also celebrate joining Inclusive Church, making them (I think) our first cathedral in the Northern Province of the CofE.

I know they're also planning an event in a few weeks time before York Pride, for which I'll share details soon.

Welcome IN York Minster it's great to have you with us! :)

The installation of the ramp means that visitors can access the quire without needing to use steps.

My apologies folks, the newsletter came out last week and I forgot to share it across onto here.

Sorry!

Here it is now :)

And yes, it does say March and I do mean May... Hopefully the link will take you to the right place either way...

An empty tomb. An absent body. Friends staring into space at Ascension, wondering what on comes next now Jesus has gone from their sight. So much of the Easter story is, paradoxically, about what is no longer there.

'Reclaiming Belonging' is a day conference for anyone wanting to
explore how to maintain Scriptural integrity whilst championing the full participation of LGBTQ+ people in the life of the church.

Together, we’ll be re-examining traditional interpretations of Scripture through an expansive and compassionate lens, to propose that celebrating and including LGBTQ+ people is what it
means to be faithful to the God revealed in the Bible.

Everyone is invited! Whether full inclusion has been your conviction and practice for years, or you are tentatively stepping out to explore what feels like a new possibility. ‘Reclaiming Belonging’
is a safe space for all who have a generous curiosity to explore the Biblical case for the glorious belonging of LGBTQ+ communities in God’s Church.

May 16th, 9.00-2.30pm St Johns Friern Barnet (London)

To book:
