*MATTERS RELATED TO RAMADAAN (Fasting)…..part 2*_

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Rahiim

Allaah encourages His slaves to fast:“… And that you fast, it is better for you, if only you know.” [ 2:184] He guides them to give thanks to Him for having made fasting obligatory on them:“… that you should magnify Allaah for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him.” [ 2:185 ] He has made fasting dear to them, and has made it easy so that people do not find it too hard to give up their habits and what they are used to. Allaah says:“… for a fixed number of days…” [2:184] He has mercy on them and keeps them away from difficulties and harm, as He says (interpretation of the meaning:“… but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days…”[ 2:184]

No wonder then, that in this month the hearts of the believers turn to their Most Merciful Lord, fearing their Lord above them, and hoping to attain His reward and the great victory (Paradise). As the status of this act of worship is so high, it is essential to learn the ahkaam (rulings) that have to do with the month of fasting so that the Muslim will know what is obligatory, in order to do it, what is haraam, in order to avoid it, and what is permissible, so that he need not subject himself to hardship by depriving himself of it.

MATTERS RELATED TO RAMADAAN (Fasting)…..part 1

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Rahiim

Praise be to Allaah, we praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own selves and from our evil deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides cannot be misled, and whomsoever He leaves astray cannot be guided. I bear witness that there is no god except Allaah alone, with no partner or associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Allaah has blessed His slaves with certain seasons of goodness, in which hasanaat (rewards for good deeds) are multiplied, sayi’aat (bad deeds) are forgiven, people’s status is raised, the hearts of the believers turn to their Master, those who purify themselves attain success and those who corrupt themselves fail. Allaah has created His slaves to worship Him, as He says: “And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans except that they should worship Me(Alone).” [51:56]

One of the greatest acts of worship is fasting, which Allaah has made obligatory on His slaves, as He says:“… Observing al-sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become al-muttaqoon (the pious).” [2:183]

The three people who will enter paradise without judgement
Alhamdulillah, let's remind ourselves of the hadith of rasulullah.
It was narrated by Abu hurayrah r.a saying,
There are three people who will enter paradise without judgement.
Then the sahaba asked who are they?
He s.a.w said they are those who depend on Allah, do not practice magic or superstition and do not do ruqya.. Saheeh Muslim in riyadus soaliheen.
Imam Muslim says do not do ruqya does not mean one cannot do ruqya but do not go to soothsayers or someone to do ruqya for them but do it themselves.

These are the people who Allah s.w.t will grant them paradise without judgement for their tawakkal.

The seven people under the shade of Allah are,
The child who rises in the worship of Allah,
The one who gives charity that his left hand does not know.
The person who is seduce by a wealthy woman to fornicate but avoid it for the sake of Allah.
The person whose heart in attached to the masjid.
The man who wokes up at night praying with tears flowing from his eyes,
Two friends who loved one another for the sake of Allah
The person who Allah and his messenger is dearest to him than anything.
The just ruler.
Saheeh bukhari and Muslim.

These are the people that will be shaded by Allah s.w.t himself.
May Allah make us among them. Amin

*Air Traffic Control and Combining Prayers at Work*

A man works in an air traffic control tower at an airport, and sometimes [while] at work prayer time comes round, if he were to leave his post to pray he would place the lives of the passengers at risk, so what is the solution?

*Al-Albaani*: Such a person should prepare for this [situation] by combining two prayers and not taking them out of their prescribed times, since a resident combining the prayers is something which Allaah has facilitated for the Muslims as occurs in the hadeeth of Abdullaah ibn Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with him, that he said, “The Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) joined dhuhr with asr, and maghrib with ishaa in Medinah when there was no fear and no rain.” They asked, “Why did he do that?” He replied, “So that his Ummah would not be subjected to hardship.” [Muslim, no. 1633]

And he can [also] lighten his prayer to get back to work [more quickly].

The important thing is that a person is a witness over himself. So he has to preserve the orders of Allaah on one hand, and carry out his job faithfully/with integrity on the other. So he must try to reconcile between the implementation of both issues: issues relating to the shar’iyyah, and those relating to his job.

You mentioned in your checking of [the book] Al-Aayaat al-Bayyinaat of al-Allaamah al-Aloosee that the attribution of the book called, Ar-Rooh [The Soul], to Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah is doubtful, what’s the validity of that?

Al-Albaani: Yes, I doubt the ascription of this book to Ibn al-Qayyim due to the large number of stories and erroneous narrations in it. In addition to the fact that I have not come across a manuscript copy which can be relied upon to unequivocally attribute the book to him.
