🚨 WOMEN: HOW TO QUEUE FOR HIJR ISMAIL

A step-by-step guide before you go

If you are planning to pray inside Hijr Ismail, the hardest part may not be the few minutes inside. It is getting through the queue.

1️⃣ COME AFTER ISHA UNTIL MIDNIGHT

📍 Gates 74–77

Many pilgrims say after Isha until around midnight is a safer time to join.

After midnight, the queue may still be open, but it can close once it becomes full.

My advice: don't leave the queue unless you really need to.

If you really need to use the toilet, take a picture of yourself in the queue and show it to the guard when you return. Some pilgrims report that this helped them rejoin the queue.

2️⃣ AROUND 2 AM — THE QUEUE MOVES

You will be moved inside and may wait at least 4 hours before entering Hijr Ismail.

Use the time for Tahajjud, Qur'an, dua or rest.

🚻 There is no toilet inside the waiting area. If you leave for the toilet, you may not be able to return to your place.

If you only need wudu, ablution facilities are available.

3️⃣ AROUND 6 AM — SMALL GROUPS

You will be divided into groups of around 50 people before entering Hijr Ismail.

4️⃣ YOUR TURN IS SHORT

You may only have around 5–10 minutes inside.

So be ready. Know what you want to pray and what you want to make dua for before your group enters.

MY TIPS 🤍

🧦 Anti-slip socks — you may need to walk quickly together with the group, and some stairs can be slippery.

🧥 Light jacket — you may wait for several hours in the air-conditioning, so keep yourself a little warm.

🚻 Use the toilet before joining the queue. It is better to prepare yourself beforehand so you don't have to leave the queue later.

IMPORTANT

The queue arrangement and timing can change depending on the crowd and security instructions.

The current official women's entry period is 6:00 AM–9:00 AM, but always follow the guards' instructions when you are there.

Save this before your Umrah. You may be standing in that queue one day.
