Hajj Sites β€” Distances (On Foot)

During Hajj, due to barriers and diversions set up to manage crowds, as well as the location of your tent in the Hajj areas and the use of buses or trains, the actual distance may be longer.

Before Hajj, during Hajj, and after Hajj:

Find out the distance from your residence in Mecca and from your tent or camp in the Hajj areas to any location.

Masjid al-Mashar al-Haram is in Muzdalifah.

Complete Hajj Guide for Diabetic Patients (Using Insulin)

Hajj is a spiritual journey but also physically demanding. Therefore, for individuals using insulin, proper preparation is essential so they can perform their ΨΉΨ¨Ψ§Ψ―Ψ§Ψͺ peacefully while keeping their health safe.

🏨 Insulin Management in Makkah & Madinah

In Mecca and Medina, hotel rooms usually have refrigerators.
Insulin should always be stored at 2–8Β°C (36–46Β°F).
Keep insulin inside the fridge, but avoid placing it in the door since the temperature there is not stable.

🧊 Arranging Ice

You can take 2–3 cups from the hotel or dining area and freeze water in them.
Use this ice when needed.
This is especially helpful during travel and Hajj days to keep insulin cool.

🧴 During Travel (Makkah ⇄ Madinah / Hajj Days)

Use an insulated bottle or cooling case to protect insulin.
Place ice at the bottom and keep insulin inside a plastic bag.
Close the lid tightly to maintain cooling.
⚠️ Make sure insulin does not come into direct contact with ice.

β›Ί Arrangements in Mina

In Mina, ice is easily available through coolers.
Change the ice daily to maintain proper temperature.
You can also request ice from kitchen staff if needed.

🏜️ Arrangements in Arafat

In Arafat, ice is also available in coolers and freezers.
You may ask staff or management for assistance if required.

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ Travel from Arafat to Muzdalifah

Before leaving, refresh your ice supply.
Carry insulin safely in your cooling case.

πŸ” Return from Muzdalifah to Mina

After reaching Mina, arrange fresh ice again.
Continue maintaining proper cooling for insulin at all times.

πŸ₯ If Insulin Runs Out or Gets Damaged

Contact the Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission.
They usually provide 3–4 vials of insulin if needed.

βž• Important Medical Guidelines
🩺 Medical Preparation

Get a full check-up from your doctor before departure.
Carry written details of your insulin dosage.
Keep your medical reports and prescription with you.

πŸ’Š Extra Supplies

Carry extra insulin.
Keep syringes, insulin pens, and needles.
Bring a glucometer and test strips to monitor sugar levels.

🍬 Preventing Low Sugar & Heat Effects

Always carry sugar, candy, or juice.
Use immediately if you feel weakness, sweating, or dizziness.

πŸ₯— Diet Instructions

Avoid sugary foods.
Limit soft drinks and desserts.
Eat simple, balanced meals on time.

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ Physical Care

Avoid excessive fatigue.
Take breaks regularly.
Be careful in crowded areas to prevent accidents.

πŸ†” Identification

Always carry a card stating:
β€œDiabetic Patient – On Insulin”
This helps in emergencies.

⚠️ Important Precautions

Do not let insulin overheat or freeze.
Keep it away from direct sunlight.
Always store it in a cooling case or proper temperature-controlled environment.
