मध्य प्रदेश की रहने वाली 35 साल की सलमा खातून ने अपने भाई को ही अपना पति बना लिया । दरअसल सलमा के पति अल्ताफ अहमद ने 6 महीने पहले ही सलमा खातून को तलाक दे दिया था जिसके बाद वह ससुराल से घर लौट आई और अपने छोटे भाई संग घर में रहने लगी, इसी बीच सलमा ने मौका पाकर अपने ही भाई रिजवान संग मियाँ - बीवी वाला सम्बंध बना लिया , और 10 दिन के अंदर ही सलमा ने अपने भाई रिजवान संग निकाह कर लिया । निकाह के तुरंत बाद दोनों हनीमून मनाने मुंबई चले गये ।
सलमा का कहना है कि पति से अच्छा तो मेरा भाई जान है कम से कम जिंदगी भर साथ नहीं छोड़ेगा । और मुझे जीवन भर कभी पति की कमी भी महसूस नहीं होगी ।।

ऐसी घटनाये वाकई में समाज को शर्मशार करने वाली है ।। फिलहाल ऐसी घटनाओ के बारे में क्या कहना चाहोगे आप..?

I’m 33, Muslim, currently working as a research scientist in Munich, Germany (been here for a year).

My best friend since nursery,a Hindu girl, now a government doctor (She is also 33), recently asked me to marry her. We’ve silently liked each other our whole lives but never said it because of religion.

Last week she finally said to me , “I know you love me. Marry me. Don’t do drama now.”

And I just stood there , completely blank.

Since that day, I’ve been restless. I want to marry her. I can’t even imagine another woman in my life. But I’m scared.

Our parents still live in that same small town. They’re old and religious. I don’t want them to suffer gossip because of me. Every second day I see ‘Love Jihad’ stories on social media, and I’m terrified that people will label our relationship like that, even though it’s mutual.

Her family is liberal, but even they might face backlash. I don’t know how to convince anyone without turning this into a war.

I’m stuck between love, religion, and guilt.
