On November 4, 2022, The International Student Fellowship of Rwanda in collaboration with its Matriach and legitimate Partner The Great Commission Movement of Rwanda, hosted its first fellowship. The theme of this event was dubbed " Gospel and Barbecue"; the Text was Matthew 24: 14.
In attendance, were Students from the Republic of Liberia, Gabon, and Nigeria respectively. The students were blessed with a homily from Pst. Bosco Izabayo. President, Great Commission Movement of Rwanda on the Text as mentioned above. Pst. Izabayo urged the students to join them in the discipleship of the Gospel, and Preach the word of God in all Nations of the world. He said the Great Commission Movement of Rwanda is completely open to collaborating with foreign students who see the need to expand the kingdom of God. While speaking, he said that a fellowship is a place for all international students studying in Rwanda to build a relationship with God as it was through the very same movement that he came to know God in 2005.
Our second speaker, Bro. Patrick Ndikumana, a Burundian, who specializes in training and development work with a special interest in youth and community development, motivated the students. In a nutshell, he said, "young people of nowadays are engaged in too many activities, but none of those activities should take preference in our lives more than God". He vehemently told the young students that it's time to create a massive space for God in their daily routine as they now have a medium to do so.
We were also honored with the Presence of friends from Australia, Peter and Juan Baraka, who blessed our hearts with songs of Praise and worship.
The acting leadership was also commissioned to steer the affairs of the fellowship, those commissioned leaders and portfolios are:
1. Joseph Hilton - Fellowship Leader
2. Joseph Gbakulu - Head of Public Relations
3. Gladsaybannie O. Dossen - General Secretary
4. Champion Kewessi - Head of IT
5. Christian G. Saywon - Program Supervisor/ Head of Planning
6. Leroy N. Bantu - Advisor
This commissioning ceremony was followed by a meet and greet as well as a time of refreshment.
We will like to use this medium to extend our profound gratitude to our Host, Guest, and all students who took time from their academic and personal schedules to be present at this fellowship.
