About Us
The World Coalition of LGBTQ Catholic Organizations was founded in Portimão (Portugal) on october, 8th, 2014 with the presence of representents coming from associations in different countries.
The World Coalition of LGBTQ Catholic Organizations is a world wide organization that aims to build bridges between LGBTQ Catholics and organizations all over the world and the Catholic Church as stated in the “Common Letter of the LGBTQ Catholic Organizations”.
As organization we don’t believe that the way to solve differences is through fight and constant antagonism that just keeps widening the gap between LGBTQ Catholics and the institutional church and vice-versa.
Despite the name we aim the wide spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identities and not just LGBTQ. The World Coalition of LGBTQ Catholic Organizations name is just an attempt to make us more compreensible by church hierarchy which, unfortunatly, still has difficulties to understand that we all are God’s sons and daughters.
