THE NEW TEMPLE

Kangyur Rinpoche Foundation started the construction of the New Temple and Cultural Center of Covão da Águia, in Monchique, in April 2025, under the inspiration, guidance and supervision of Pema Wangyal Rinpoche and Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche and in accordance with the vision of Amala – Jampa Chökyi. 🙏🏻

The new center will have capacity for 400 people and all the necessary facilities to host large cultural events (conferences, gatherings, retreats, etc.)

The first phase was to mold the land and stabilize the terraces in order to support the foundations of the buildings. At the end of 2025, construction is progressing steadily, and we are currently finishing the foundations and starting the pillars of the buildings.

Making this Cultural Center a reality requires everyone’s support. Any amount is a step towards establishing this space.

O NOVO TEMPLO

A Fundação Kangyur Rinpoche começou a construção do Novo Templo e Centro Cultural do Covão da Águia em Abril de 2025, sob a inspiração, orientação, e supervisão de Pema Wangyal Rinpoche e Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche e de acordo com a visão de Amalá – Jampa Chökyi. 🙏🏻

O novo centro terá capacidade para 400 pessoas e todas as condições necessárias para acolher grandes eventos culturais (conferências, encontros, retiros, etc.).

A primeira fase consistiu em modelar o terreno e estabilizar os socalcos, de modo a suportar as fundações dos edifícios. No final de 2025, a construção está a avançar a bom ritmo. Estamos atualmente a concluir as fundações e a iniciar os pilares dos edifícios.

Para que este Centro se torne realidade é necessário o apoio de todos. Qualquer quantia é um passo para o estabelecimento deste espaço.

It is with great joy that we open the registrations for the Drubchö to be held from May 3rd to 9th, at the Covão da Águia Retreat Center (Monchique). 😃

This drubchö is based on the termas Nyakluk Dorje Phurba (Vajrakīlaya according to the tradition of Nyak Jñānakumāra), revealed by Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and Laphur Thugtik, revealed by Kangyur Rinpoche.

The event will be led by Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche, Pema Wangyal Rinpoche, Rangdrol Rinpoche and several monks from Shechen Monastery.

A drubchö consists of a characteristic Vajrayana practice in which lamas, monks and participants perform together many meditations, recitations, ceremonies, etc., over several sessions throughout the day.

These group practices have profound beneficial effects, including: purifying and avoiding obstacles in our practice and life, and contributing to peace and harmony in the world, and can be an important stepping-stone on the spiritual path to awakening.
