If your spouse is running, hiding, concealing or backsliding...
..it’s not a license to fall with them, it’s a call to arms to finally walk in Godly authority.
It's a call to stand!
The enemy wants you to believe that when your spouse falls, you’re unequally yoked.
IF YOUR HUSBAND IS SPIRITUALLY FALLING:
..this is not your pass to resentment, accusation, or building a case against him.
If you abandon kindness, self-control, or the character of a Titus 2 or Proverbs 31 woman, that’s on you.
IF YOUR WIFE IS SPIRITUALLY FALLING:
..this is not an excuse for you to withdraw, dominate, or give up.
If you refuse to wash her in the Word, lead with Godly vision, or intercede for her, that’s on you.
As long as one spouse remains steadfast, the marriage has hope for restoration.
THIS ISN’T ABOUT YOU “FIXING” YOUR SPOUSE OR WALKING IN RESENTMENT.
It’s about standing firm in who God has called YOU to be, even when it’s hard.
“If you [only] love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. If you lend [money] to those from whom you expect to receive [it back], what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners expecting to receive back the same amount. But love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; for your reward will be great (rich, abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High; because He Himself is kind and gracious and good to the ungrateful and the wicked.” — Luke 6:32-35
You might be the first person God uses to become your spouse’s sreference point for covenant love, not through control, but through consistency in righteousness.
Stand firm.
