The Journey Ministries was formally established in the Fall of 2013, but the concept has been happening for as long as people have been willing to walk on the journey of life with another. As stated in the short description, the purpose of The Journey Ministries is to meet people where they are on life's journey and to walk with them in such a way that they are able to experience the love of Chris

In this, it is the prayer of The Journey Ministries that individuals are able to experience restoration (Restore), are able to Rebuild their lives and to Rejoice in the Lord in and through all things. This ministry is based Luke 10:25-37-the Parable of the Good Samaritan. In this passage, an expert in the law asks Jesus, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus asks the expert, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?" The expert says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself." Jesus says, "You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live." The expert, presses the issue asking, "Who is my neighbor?" Jesus then tells him a parable of a man beaten, robbed and left for dead along on the Jerusalem road to Jericho. A priest went by, saw the man and passed on the other side leaving the man for dead. A Levite also passed by, saw him and passed on the other side. A Samaritan came where the man was as he was traveling, stopped, tended to the man's wounds and placed him on his donkey and took him to the inn to recover and receive further medical attention paying for all of the man's needs. Jesus asks the expert in the law, "Which one of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?"
The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise." As we "go and do likewise," we pray our words and actions will reflect the same words in which Paul writes to the church in Corinth in 2 Corinthians 5:14: "Christ's love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do."

Yesterday, I shared a story of a lady who had been so thirsty that she prayed to God for something to drink and when she lifted her head we had appeared.
As I have been reflecting on the joy that brought my heart, the layers of how much God was in the details are beginning to peel back. I probably can't name them all, but the first thing that came to mind was that we went last to the place we typically go to first. The next goes back to before we even left the church. For one, we already had the bags made and because of lessons we learned last year, preparing the hot dogs went way faster. Two, we already had lunch on site. We didn't go out or have to wait. 3. We rotated working on getting everything packed in the cars while each person had a chance to eat. 4. because of all this, we left to the streets earlier than we ever have before. 5. at each location we went to, we took our time. We visited, shared, and made sure each person got something before we packed up and moved on. And, when the time was right...bam! We showed up just in time to be the answer to a thirsty woman's prayer.
This is yet another reminder that God is not only in the details but that God cares for you! Always! God hears your prayers, is working out the details, and when the time is right..bam, the answer will appear!

Ok, kids! I think we hit the mark with the verse "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat and I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink." This is all we have left from 120 bags. The remaining bags will go to OSJ for the folks we serve in the Pedacito program.
It was a great birthday! My favorite story from today was at our last stop behind the Walgreens by church. Ely said a lady told her she was so thirsty that she had been praying to God for something to drink and when she looked up there we were. We also got to see one of the girls we know in that area. So, it makes my heart happy that people got something good today!

Today Pastora Angie and I prepped 120 bags for the Reverse Bday Party tomorrow. Each bag has a Birthday Sticker and inside includes a piece of cake, a special birthday card that I wrote and a chip. We will make hot dogs tomorrow and hand out bottles of water and juice pouches. Stay tuned for more fun!

I apologize for my lack of picture taking. I missed an opportunity yesterday while I was packing the van. I had items for the Reverse BDay, Beat the Heat and Blessing Bags. There were 3 boxes of chips(50 each) 4 packages of water(40), 4 boxes of Popsicles, 2 packages of canned ravioli (12), and 4 boxes of Kool-aid jammers. The van looked like a wholesale club!
Saturday, I will bake the cupcakes and put together bags. Sunday, we will cook the hotdogs and take them out. So, stay tuned for more fun!

👁🧐 Bought the chips and juice for the birthday party today. I was going to wait but I couldn't help myself. I'm getting excited! So far we have: hot dogs, cake mixes (oil), goodie bags for cupcakes, candles, chips, juice, the brown bags and cupcake liners. We have a few things left to purchase. We are almost ready to get this party started! 🥳🎂

I'm not done with my mail yet; but I had to leave the food court at the mall before I misbehaved and had 🍔🍟🥤🍦. Alsp, it was getting crowded.
