Half-way point through our Lenten journey, we rejoice as we celebrate Laetare Sunday this weekend. We are also having our very first recollection! (Posting on Behalf of International Catholics of Warsaw)

Guests may come only for the recollection and may choose to stay or leave for the Holy Mass.
We have a baby sitter who will be taking care of the children before the Holy Mass. Materials and activities for the young ones will also be provided for.

Novena to the Holy Face of Jesus Day 2 - February 9, 2026

SECOND DAY
DAILY PREPARATORY PRAYER
O Most Holy and Blessed Trinity, through the intercession of Holy Mary, whose soul was pierced through by a sword of sorrow at the sight of the passion of her Divine Son, we ask your help in making a perfect Novena of reparation with Jesus, united with all His sorrows, love and total abandonment.
We now implore all the Angels and Saints to intercede for us as we pray this Holy Novena to the Most Holy Face of Jesus and for the glory of the most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

"For I am fully aware of my offense, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you alone,[a] have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. Therefore, you are right in accusing me and just in passing judgment." Psalm 51:5-6.

THE “GOLDEN ARROW” PRAYER
(Dictated by Our Lord to Sister Mary of St. Peter)

This “Golden Arrow” prayer was given to Sr. Mary of St. Peter to atone for the sins of blasphemy against God’s name. Just as sins of blasphemy were like a ‘poisoned arrow’ continually wounding God’s Heart, she saw in a vision that this “Golden Arrow” had the power to wound him “delightfully”.

Our Lord revealed to her the inseparable connection in honoring the unutterable name of God through the Golden Arrow prayer and in venerating the Holy Face of Jesus. She saw how its recitation caused torrents of graces to stream for the conversion of sinners. It is the central prayer in the devotion to the Holy Face.

“May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable, most incomprehensible and unutterable Name of God be always praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth, by all the creatures of God, and by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

Preliminary Prayer to be said each day:

Be blessed, O most pure Virgin, for having vouchsafed to manifest yourself shining with life, sweetness and beauty, in the Grotto of Lourdes, saying to the child, St. Bernadette: "I am the Immaculate Conception." A thousand times we congratulate you upon your Immaculate Conception. And now, O ever Immaculate Virgin, Mother of mercy, Health of the sick, Refuge of sinners, Comforter of the afflicted, you know our wants, our troubles, our sufferings; deign to cast upon us a look of mercy. By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes, you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary, whence you dispense your favors, and already many have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and physical. We come, therefore, with the most unbounded confidence to implore your maternal intercession. Obtain for us, O loving Mother, the granting of our request.

DAY EIGHT
Mary Is Constant in Her Prayer and Presence. March 4, 1858. The ever-growing crowd at Massabielle now reaches nearly 8000 souls, all expecting to see a miracle by. The Lady appears to Bernadette, but only in silence. Fr. Peyramale is adamant in his demands. Bernadette no longer feels the Lady’s inner call, so she stays away from the Massabielle Grotto for nearly three weeks. During that time, the local government fences off the Grotto and sets stiff penalties for those who break through.

Thursday, March 25th. Once again, Bernadette feels called to return to the Grotto, and does so under cover of darkness. The Lady reappears to her for more than an hour. Standing over the rosebush, the Lady speaks to her, but still no flowers bloom. Bernadette later recalls: “She raised her eyes to Heaven, her hands joined in prayer, and said to me, ‘I am the Immaculate Conception.’” The young saint turns away and runs down the road, repeating the words she has just heard, but does not yet understand what they mean. Fr. Peyramale does understand, and this disturbs him to his core. Four years earlier, for the first time in the history of the Church, Pope Pius IX had bypassed the tradition of verifying dogma with scriptural proof, and declared that his belief in the Blessed Virgin’s Immaculate Conception would be an official truth of the Roman Catholic faith. (pause)

Let us pray.

O Immaculate Mother of God, from heaven itself you came to appear to the little Bernadette in the rough Grotto of Lourdes. As Bernadette knelt at your feet and the miraculous spring burst forth from the earth, as multitudes have knelt ever since before your shrine, O Mother of God, we kneel before you today to ask that in your mercy you plead with your Divine Son to grant the special favor we seek in this novena.

DAY SEVEN
Mary Is Mother and Disciple of the Lord. March 2, 1858. The crowd grows, more and more. In this, her 13th apparition, the Lady exhorts Bernadette to contact the Church: “Go and tell the priests to lead the people in procession to Massabielle, and have them build a chapel here.” Bernadette goes to her parish priest, Fr. Peyramale, and tells him of the Lady’s request. Fr. Peyramale is single-minded: “What is the Lady’s name?” He demands proof that she is real: “Let the wild roses of Massabielle Grotto bloom now, in the middle of winter.”

The next morning, Bernadette returns to the Grotto at 7:00, surrounded by 3000 people. The Lady does not appear! Bernadette then goes to school for the day, but she feels an inner calling from the Lady. When she goes to the Grotto after school, the Lady does appear, and, following Fr. Peyramale’s directions, Bernadette asks for her name. The Lady merely smiles in response. Fr. Peyramale is emphatic: “If the Lady really wants a chapel, have her say her name and make the wild rosebush of the Grotto blossom.” (pause)

Let us pray.

O Almighty God, Who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary did prepare a worthy dwelling place for Your Son, we humbly beseech You that as we contemplate the apparition of Our Lady in the Grotto of Lourdes, we may be blessed with health of mind and body. O most gracious Mother Mary, beloved Mother of Our Lord and Redeemer, look with favor upon us as you did that day on Bernadette and intercede with Him for us that the favor we now so earnestly seek may be granted to us.

Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes - Day 6 | Feb 7, 2026

DAY SIX
Mary Acts To Help Others. February 28, 1858. More than a thousand people now surround the Grotto at Massabielle. Bernadette prays, kisses the ground, and crawls on her knees as a sign of penance. Still suspicious of the poor and simple Bernadette’s motives, and concerned about the ever-increasing number of pilgrims at Massabielle, once again the law attempts to question her. Bernadette is taken to the house of Judge Ribes, who threatens to put her in prison.

The next day, March 1st, the crowd of pilgrims swells to more than 1500 people. Among them, for the first time, is a Roman Catholic priest. That evening, a woman named Catherine Latapie, from the nearby town of Loubajac, goes to the Massabielle Grotto in the hope of finding relief from the pain and disability of a dislocated arm. Dipping her arm into the spring, Latapie’s pain disappears – and all of her flexibility returns. This is the first reported miracle of healing through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes. (pause)

Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes - Day 2 Feb 3, 2026

Preliminary Prayer to be said each day:
Be blessed, O most pure Virgin, for having vouchsafed to manifest yourself shining with life, sweetness and beauty, in the Grotto of Lourdes, saying to the child, St. Bernadette: "I am the Immaculate Conception." A thousand times we congratulate you upon your Immaculate Conception. And now, O ever Immaculate Virgin, Mother of mercy, Health of the sick, Refuge of sinners, Comforter of the afflicted, you know our wants, our troubles, our sufferings; deign to cast upon us a look of mercy. By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes, you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary, whence you dispense your favors, and already many have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and physical. We come, therefore, with the most unbounded confidence to implore your maternal intercession. Obtain for us, O loving Mother, the granting of our request.

Through gratitude for your favors, we will endeavor to imitate your virtues, that we may one day share your glory.

Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of Christ, you had influence with your Divine Son while upon earth. You have the same influence now in Heaven. Pray for us; obtain for us from your Divine Son our special requests if it be the Divine Will. Amen

DAY TWO
Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes - Day 2
Be blessed, O most pure Virgin, for having vouchsafed to manifest yourself shining with light, sweetness and beauty, in the Grotto of Lourdes, saying to the child Saint Bernadette: "I am the Immaculate Conception!" O Mary Immaculate, inflame our hearts with one ray of the burning love of your pure heart. Let them be consumed with love for Jesus and for you, in order that we may merit one day to enjoy your glorious eternity. O dispenser of His graces here below, take into your keeping and present to your Divine Son the petition for which we are making this novena.

O brilliant star of purity, Mary Immaculate, Our Lady of Lourdes, glorious in your assumption, triumphant in your coronation, show unto us the mercy of the Mother of God. Virgin Mary, Queen and Mother, be our comfort, hope, strength, and consolation. Amen
