This Sunday, 18 February 2024, is the First Sunday of Lent. As we have already entered into Lent, a period of forty days of deep reflections and spiritual growth, our readings remind us of Jesus' entry into wilderness for forty days. Why is that? Let’s come together to reflect. Please join us online at 10:30 Central European time in the Zoom Chapel: https://zoom.us/j/310015656 for the Agape Service or at one of the in-person services in Warsaw or Gdańsk.

Lenten Course/Study: Philip Robinson, an Ignatian Spiritual Director, will facilitate a Lenten course/study from 20th February 2024 (only on Tuesdays) at 19:30 hrs in the Zoom chapel. As he puts it “the meditative technique of Imaginative Contemplation will form the foundation of Lenten bible study. With Imaginative Contemplation we will spend between 5 and 8 minutes on guided meditation noticing, sensing, and wondering on the biblical passage chosen. Then we will listen to hear how participants respond to the passage and the meditation. We will contemplate Lenten themes including the Life of Christ, the desert, retreat, withdrawal and preparation and each session is stand-alone, so participants don't need to attend all!” You are invited!

On Wednesday we met for the service of Imposition of Ashes. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a period of preparation for the Great Feast of Easter, when the actions of Jesus taught us that all of our failings and short-comings were forgiven, if only we could learn to forgive.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hatest nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all them that are penitent: Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we worthily lamenting our sins, and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
