(Ezek. 34:1–11) Where Are My Shepherds?
In Ezekiel 34:1–11, God delivers a powerful warning against the shepherds of Israel who were entrusted to care for His people but instead cared only for themselves. They fed themselves while neglecting the weak, the sick, the wounded, and the lost. Through the prophet Ezekiel, God exposes their failure and reminds us that spiritual leadership is not about power or position—it is about serving, protecting, guiding, and caring for God’s people.
This passage challenges every leader and every believer to examine their hearts. God sees the sheep who are scattered, hurting, and searching for direction, and He does not ignore their suffering. The words, “Where are My shepherds?”, remind us that those given responsibility must remain faithful to their calling. True shepherds are called to lead with humility, compassion, faithfulness, and love, following the example of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
May this passage encourage us to pray for faithful shepherds in our churches, communities, and families, and may it inspire us to care for those who are lost, weak, and in need. God never forgets His sheep, and He promises to seek them out when others fail them. May we always remember that leadership before God is a sacred responsibility, not merely a position.
