The Historic Visit of the Christian Business Delegation of Pakistan
On 11 July 2026 a historic milestone was achieved as a Christian business delegation from Pakistan led by Fr. Cyril of the Orthodox Church of Pakistan paid an official visit to the Russian Federation. This marks the first-ever visit in history by a Christian delegation from Pakistan to Russia , with the objective of promoting trade, strengthening bilateral relations, and fostering closer people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Russia.
During the visit, the delegation participated in **INNOPROM 2026**, the prestigious international industrial exhibition held in Yekaterinburg. The delegation explored opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, including food products, surgical instruments, leather goods, textiles, and other Pakistani exports, while also establishing contacts with Russian businesses and institutions.
As part of the official program, the delegation visited the Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow and met with His Excellency Mr. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation and Madam Shabana Mumtaz Trade Minister . During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on enhancing bilateral trade, encouraging business cooperation, and strengthening people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Russia. The delegation expressed its sincere appreciation to the Ambassador and the Embassy staff for their warm hospitality, valuable guidance, and continued support.
Fr. Cyril emphasized that the Christian community of Pakistan is committed to contributing positively to economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and the development of stronger relations between Pakistan and the Russian Federation. This historic visit demonstrates the willingness of Pakistani Christian entrepreneurs to play an active role in expanding trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.
The delegation also expresses its deepest gratitude to **His Eminence Metropolitan Korniliy** for his exceptional hospitality, fatherly care, and generous support throughout the visit. We are especially thankful for the accommodation provided during our stay in Russia, which greatly contributed to the success of this historic mission. His kindness and encouragement reflected the spirit of Christian brotherhood and strengthened the bonds between the Orthodox faithful in Russia and Pakistan.
