Good Friday is a solemn Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion, suffering, and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary. Occurring on the Friday before Easter, it is a day of reflection, prayer, and mourning within the Holy Week. It is considered "good" because it signifies Christ's sacrifice for the atonement of sins, leading to the resurrection on Easter Sunday.
It marks the day humanity is believed to have been saved through Christ's sacrifice, bridging the divide between God and humanity caused by sin.

Palm Sunday is a major Christian feast day that occurs on the Sunday before Easter, marking the end of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week. It commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, an event recorded in all four canonical Gospels, where he was greeted by crowds waving palm branches and shouting "Hosanna".
It celebrates Jesus as the King of Peace and the Messiah, riding on a donkey to symbolize humility, rather than a warhorse. The service typically includes a special blessing of palms, a procession, and the reading of the Passion narrative, which details the events leading to Jesus' crucifixion.
Palm branches represent peace and victory, historically used to welcome winners and royalty. In many churches, palm fronds are distributed to the congregation. These are often taken home and in some traditions, kept to be burned for ashes on the following year's Ash Wednesday.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany, a day that marks the revelation of Jesus to the world, not just to the Jewish people but to all nations. The beautiful account of the Magi, or Wise Men, visiting the newborn King reminds us of the universality of Christ’s message and mission.
In the Gospel reading from Matthew (Matthew 2:1-12), we hear of the Magi traveling from distant lands, guided by a remarkable star. Their journey symbolizes a profound quest for truth, wisdom, and understanding. They leave behind the familiarity of their homes, embracing the unknown, driven by a desire to encounter the Divine. This act of seeking is a call for each of us. Are we willing to embark on our own journeys of faith, even when the path is uncertain?

"Jesus, King of Kings" is a biblical title for Jesus Christ, signifying His supreme and absolute authority over all earthly and spiritual rulers. This title appears in the New Testament, particularly in the book of Revelation, where it is used to describe His future, ultimate reign over all creation. It is a declaration of His sovereignty, power, and dominion over the universe, and the title "Lord of Lords" is often paired with it to emphasize this supreme authority.
King of Kings and the Lord of Lords because I want you to focus as we come into a new year to understand the knowledge of His Kingdom. In Matthew chapter 6, we have the King’s Manifesto and if we know Jesus as our King and as our Savior and Lord then we will know something of the language of the Kingdom and what a way to start a new year as we approach a new year is to understand that He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and He said,
25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”
33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow. For tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:25, 33-34
