Hajj and Umrah: The Blessed Act to Remove Sins and Poverty

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Perform Hajj and Umrah one after another (frequently), because they remove poverty and sins just as a blacksmith’s furnace removes the rust and dirt from iron, gold, and silver."

The Prophet (ﷺ) also said:
"Whoever performs Hajj for the sake of Allah without using bad language or committing any sin—will return (as pure) as the day their mother gave birth to them."

The Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged us to perform Hajj and Umrah whenever we can. These holy journeys have a special power: they wash away our financial worries (poverty) and our mistakes (sins).

Allah says in the Quran:
_"And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah." (Surah Al-Baqarah: 196)_

Truth is the Path to Paradise, Lying is the Cause of Hell

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A person keeps telling the truth until they are recorded with Allah as a Siddiq (a truthful person).

On the other hand, lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire (Hell). A person keeps telling lies until they are recorded with Allah as a Kazzab (a habitual liar)."

Explanation (Main Concept)

Being truthful isn't just about saying the right words; it's a way of life that leads a person to the highest ranks in the Hereafter. When someone makes honesty their habit, Allah gives them the title of "Siddiq."

Lying is a dangerous trap that pushes a person into bad behavior and disobedience to Allah. If lying becomes a person's nature, they are labeled a "Kazzab" by Allah. Truth brings peace and safety, while lying brings stress and destruction.

Allah says in the Quran:
_"O you who believe! Fear Allah and be with those who are truthful." (Surah Al-Tawbah: 119)_

- The Root of Evil: Lying is the root of many other sins. It eats away at a person's faith (Iman).

The Commands of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

Teaching: Respecting those who ask in Allah's Name and Returning Kindness

*Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:*
*The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:*
1. "If someone asks for protection in the name of Allah, give them protection."
2. "If someone asks you for something in the name of Allah, give it to them."
3. "If someone invites you (to a meal or gathering), accept it."
4. "If someone does a favor for you, return the favor. But if you have nothing to give back, then pray for them so much that you feel sure you have repaid their kindness."

The Prophet (ﷺ) taught us that when someone uses Allah's name to ask for help, we shouldn't turn them away because we must respect the greatness of Allah. Similarly, if someone invites us, we should go to show love and respect.

Islam teaches us to be grateful. If someone does something nice for you, don't just stay silent—do something nice back! If you are too poor to give a gift back, then a sincere prayer (Dua) from the heart is the best way to say thank you.

Missing Prayer Intentionally

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Do not leave your prayer intentionally. This is because for the person who leaves prayer on purpose, the protection (responsibility) of Allah and His Messenger is taken away."

The Blessing of Friday and the Day of Arafah (When Islam was Completed)

Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
A Jewish man once said to him, "O Leader of the Believers! There is a verse in your Book (the Quran) that you recite; if it had been revealed to us Jews, we would have celebrated that day as an 'Eid' (a day of festival)."

Hazrat Umar asked, "Which verse is that?" The man replied:

"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion."
(Surah Al-Ma'idah: 3)

Hazrat Umar (RA) replied: "We know exactly which day and place this verse was revealed to the Prophet (ﷺ). He was standing at Arafat (during the Hajj), and it was a Friday."
(Sahih Bukhari: 45)

Allah has made Islam a complete "code of life" for the whole world until the end of time. After this, no other new system or religion is needed. The fact that a non-Muslim wished they could celebrate the day this verse was revealed shows how globally important this message is.

The Importance of Following the Prophet ﷺ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Whatever I forbid you to do, avoid it (completely). Whatever I command you to do, do it as much as you can. Indeed, the people before you were destroyed because they asked too many (unnecessary) questions and disagreed with their Prophets."

The Command of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)
The Real Strongman is the One Who Controls His Anger
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"A strong person is not the one who throws others down in a wrestling match. Rather, the real strong person is the one who controls himself when he is angry."
(Sahih Bukhari: 6114)
Explanation (Main Concept)
The Prophet (ﷺ) clarified that physical strength or winning a fight is not something to be truly proud of, because even animals can have more physical power than humans.
The real test of a human’s bravery is that moment when anger is burning inside you and you have the power to take revenge, but you choose to control your emotions just for the sake of Allah. Controlling yourself in anger is actually a victory over your own "Ego" (Ana), and that is what makes you a true winner.
Allah says in the Quran about the people of Paradise:
"...who swallow their anger and forgive people—and Allah loves those who do good." (Surah Al-Imran: 134)

Higher Standard: The Quran doesn't just call "swallowing anger" a good habit; it calls it "Ihsan" (an act of excellence).
The Danger of Anger: Anger is a weapon of Shaitan. It clouds a person's mind and makes them say or do things they regret later. It can lead to hurting others and committing major sins.
How to Fix Mistakes: If you lose your temper and hurt someone, just staying quiet later isn't enough. You must apologize to the person you hurt and ask Allah for forgiveness.
True Success: The real hero is the one who uses "Taubah" (repentance) and "Islah" (self-correction) to learn how to keep their temper under control permanently.
Simple Summary for Kids:
Being "strong" doesn't mean you can win a fight or muscle someone around. Real strength is when you are very angry, but you choose to stay calm and be kind instead. That is the kind of hero Allah loves!

Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

"One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) commanded us to give charity (Sadaqah). At that time, I happened to have some wealth. I thought to myself, 'If I am ever going to outdo Abu Bakr, today is the day.'
So, I brought half of my entire wealth to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Messenger of Allah asked me, 'What have you left behind for your family?' I replied, 'The same amount (half).'
Then, Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived, bringing everything he owned. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him, 'What have you left behind for your family?' He replied, 'I have left for them Allah and His Messenger.'

At that moment, I realized and said, 'I can never compete with him or get ahead of him in anything.'"

Hazrat Umar's Devotion: He gave 50% of everything he owned.

Hazrat Abu Bakr's Excellence: He gave 100% of his belongings, showing his complete trust in Allah.

Narrated `Ali: I have never heard the Prophet mentioning his father and mother for anybody other than Sa`d bin Malik. I heard him saying on the day of Uhud, O Sa`d throw (arrows)! Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you !
