حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے دریافت کیا کہ اسلام کی کون سی خصلت بہتر ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا:"تم (محتاجوں) کو کھانا کھلاؤ اور آشنا اور غیر آشنا ہر ایک(مسلمان)کو سلام کرو۔"
