According to the constitution of the Church of Pakistan, it is the senior most standing committee of the Synod of the Church of Pakistan. The Church of Pakistan (COP) is a culmination of four major churches in Pakistan i.e. United Methodist Church-USA, Anglican Church of Scotland and Lutheran Church which formed a union church (Church of Pakistan) in the year 1970. Its area of work extend to the p
resent eight exiting diocese or any other organization structure or arrangement that the Synod of the Church of Pakistan may work. to be a catalyst (to stir hope, faith and action). In order for women to play their role they need to build their self-esteem, having a positive image of themselves and others. They need to change the basic attitude towards their status and role in the Church and society. They need to fully recognize their gift and contribution in the church. They must stop looking at themselves as appendages or extension their male counterparts. They are initiators, co-creation, co-workers in God’s creation. As stewards they are equal partner with man in God’s creation. It is with this role and vision the Synodical is to build women at all levels through its awareness, leaderships and educational programs. It also safeguards and looks after the interest and right of women with the church through the Dioceses of the church. It coordinates women work of all the Diocese of the Church. It prepare and plans projects, seminars, consultation and work shops at national, regional and local level serving the communities through the Dioceses. Besides its role of coordinating and facilitating, it also help in building individual, net working along with NGO’s and other church denominations and our Ecumenical sisters.
