When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This time of year is a truly wonderful and magical one and Christmas is a holiday with a beautiful spirit and traditions. One tradition is greeting each other with merry Christmas wishes. The spirit of giving, expressing love and gratitude and a celebration of life help to make Christmas a very special time of year.

The time came for Elizabeth to have her child, and she gave birth to a son;
and when her neighbors and relations heard that the Lord had lavished on her his faithful love, they shared her joy.
Now it happened that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; they were going to call him Zechariah after his father,
but his mother spoke up. 'No,' she said, 'he is to be called John.'
They said to her, 'But no one in your family has that name,'
and made signs to his father to find out what he wanted him called
The father asked for a writing-tablet and wrote, 'His name is John.' And they were all astonished.

Some things may not work out the way you THINK they should. You must consider that in many circumstances, the Lord is either protecting you from an unseen danger or arranging something better for you. Trust His wisdom....trust His timing.
