Born in 1955, Master Ven. Li Guangfu is from the Han ethnic group and later became a Taoist priest.

Since 2002, he has been the host of Zixiao Taoist temple in Wudang Mountain and President of Wudang Taoist Association. Now he is a standing member of the National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Vice President of CCRP, and President of the China Taoist Association.

Master Ven. Yanjue serves as Executive Vice President of the China Buddhist Association and Vice President, China Committee on Religions and Peace (CCRP).

Master Ven. Yanjue is from the Han ethnic group and was born in 1956.
He has been a Buddhist monk since 1981.
Since 2005, he has become the abbot of Guangji temple in Beijing.

In 2016, he was granted a doctor of Buddhism and Philosophy, honoris causa by Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in Thailand.

Now, he is Vice President of CCRP and Executive Vice President of China Buddhist Association.

H.E. Judge Mohamed Abdel-Salam is the Secretary General of the Higher Committee on Human Fraternity, Member of Al-Azhar Center for Interreligious Dialogue, Member of the Executive Office of the Muslim Council of Elders, and the former legislative and legal advisor to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.

H.E. Abdel-Salam is the first Arab Muslim to receive the medal of Commander with a Star from the Pope. This medal is among the highest honors awarded by the Vatican and came in recognition of his efforts to promote interreligious dialogue and tolerance.

H.E. Judge Mohamed Abdel-Salam represents the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar on Religions for Peace’s highest leadership body, the World Council.

His Eminence Cardinal Charles Bo was born on 29 October 1948 in Monhla, a village in the Archdiocese of Mandalay. After studying at the Nazareth Aspirantate of the Salesians Don Bosco in Anisakan, Pyin Oo Lwin, from 1962 to 1976, he made his temporary vows on 24 May 1970, followed by perpetual vows on 10 March 1976.

After his priestly ordination as a Salesian in Lashio, Shan State on 9 April 1976, he served as a pastor in Loihkam (1976-1981) and Lashio (1981-1983). From 1983 to 1985, he taught in the seminary of Anisakan.

H.E. Cardinal Bo served as Apostolic Administrator in Lashio from 1985 to 1986 and its Apostolic Prefect from 1986 to 1990. When the prefecture was elevated to the status of a diocese on 7 July 1990, he was appointed its first bishop. He was consecrated bishop on 16 December that year.

St. John Paul transferred him to the Diocese of Pathein in Ayeyarwaddy Region on 24 May 1996, but he continued as Apostolic Administrator of Lashio until November 1998. On 15 May 2003, he was appointed Archbishop of Yangon. From 2000 to 2006, he headed the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Myanmar.

H.H. Pope Francis made him Myanmar’s first cardinal at the consistory of 14 February 2015 in the Vatican. Subsequently, he was appointed a member of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, Pontifical Council for Culture, and Secretariat of Communication in the Vatican.

H.E. Cardinal Bo was elected the president of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC) on 16 November 2018. FABC brings together 19 bishops’ conferences of Asia as full members and 8 associate members. The federation’s purpose is to foster among its members solidarity and co-responsibility for the welfare of the Church and society in Asia. The decisions of the Federation are without juridical binding force; their acceptance is an expression of collegial responsibility.

Shaykh Abdullah Bin Bayyah was born in 1935 in eastern Mauritania. He studied sacred sciences in the Mauritanian centers of learning known as Mahadhir. He then studied law at the Faculty of Law in Tunisia and was trained in Tunisian courts in 1961.

Shaykh Bin Bayyah has served in many distinguished positions over the years, including but not limited to Judge at the High Court of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the first Minister for Islamic Affairs and Education, Minister of Justice and Official Holder of the Seals. He is currently the Chairman of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, Member of the Muslim League’s International High Council of Mosques and lecturer at the King Abdul Aziz University in Saudi Arabia.

Shaykh Bin Bayyah has published numerous writings and has been distinguished in a variety of ways for his work in Islam, interreligious dialogue and peace building. He was named one of the Most Influential Muslims from 2009-2013. Shaykh Bin Bayyah has received numerous awards for his work as an Islamic scholar and advocate for peace.

President-Designate Kosho Niwano was born in Tokyo as the first daughter of President Nichiko Niwano. After receiving a law degree from Gakushuin University, she studied at Rissho Kosei-kai’s Gakurin seminary. She is currently devoted to studying the teachings of the Latus Sutra and shares the teachings with members who visit the Great Sacred Hall for worship services and special events.

She also actively promotes interreligious cooperation domestically and internationally in her capacity as president-designate of Rissho Kosei-kai by attending interfaith congresses.

She is a councilor of Shinshuren (Federation of New Religious Organizations of Japan), a board of director of Religions for Peace Japan and a board of director of KAICIID (The King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue).

She wrote a book titled, Kaiso - sama ni naraite (The Buddha in Everyone’s Heart).

Dr. Kezevino (Vinu) Aram serves as a Co-Moderator and Executive Committee Member of Religions for Peace. She previously served as Member of the International Youth Committee of Religions for Peace.

Dr. Aram is a Child Health Practitioner and Director of Shanti Ashram. Dr. Vinu Aram is the daughter of Dr. M. Aram and Minoti Aram, who were both dedicated peace and interfaith dialogue advocates. She completed her medical training from the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and completed her Post-Graduate studies at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Aram has held numerous positions in public health, such as Coordinator of the Prathiba Initiative, Consultant to the Malarum Mottukal Initiative, and as a consultant on violence against children in a study conducted by UNICEF. She has organized and participated in numerous activities around child health, HIV/AIDS, immunization, and community health practices. She leads a practicum for graduate and doctoral students from the Harvard School of Public Health of community health practices in Tamil Nadu and is a Visiting Professor at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences, as well as other institutes. In her role as Director of the Shanti Ashram, Dr. Aram coordinates programs and projects creatively finding ways of addressing issues of child health, education, and poverty alleviation.

Dr. Aram has been awarded numerous honors since she was student at the Harvard School of Public Health, receiving the Best Junior Medical Officer, Dr. Fan Chin Memorial Award, and the Albert Schweitzer Award & Ranchin Award. She has also awarded the Best Medical Officer by the Masonic Medical Centre for Children, the Outstanding Young Indian Award, and the Dharmachakra Award for contributing to improve child health in the community. She has published numerous research papers and articles. She serves on the Board of Directors of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID).
