Hare Krishna to All Devotees! 🌹🙏

Lokanath Goswami was a direct associate and disciple of Śrī Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. In Krishna-lila, he is known as Lila Manjari. Born to Padmanabha Chakravarti and Sita Devi in Talakhari (Jessore, Bengal), he renounced family life in 1510 CE and, on Mahaprabhu's instruction, went to Vrindavan. Along with his close companion Bhugarbha Goswami, he dedicated his life to discovering and serving the holy places of Braj. He worshiped Śrī Śrī Radha Vinoda with deep love, lived in complete renunciation, avoided fame, and even requested Krishnadas Kaviraja Goswami not to describe his glories in the Chaitanya Charitamrita. He is remembered as an ideal of humility, pure devotion, and selfless service to Śrī Śrī Radha-Krishna.

Srila Gopala Bhatta Goswami Disappearance Day – 3 August 2026 (Monday)

Srila Gopala Bhatta Goswami was one of the illustrious Six Goswamis of Vrindavan and a beloved associate of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Born in a distinguished Vaishnava family in Srirangam, he was blessed with the personal association of Mahaprabhu during the Lord's South India tour. Following Mahaprabhu's instruction, he later went to Vrindavan, where he dedicated his entire life to establishing pure devotional service (bhakti), preserving Vaishnava traditions, and serving the devotees.

One of Srila Gopala Bhatta Goswami's greatest contributions was the manifestation of Sri Sri Radha-Raman, who mercifully appeared from one of his Shalagrama Shilas to accept his loving service. He also played a major role in preserving the principles of Gaudiya Vaishnavism through Hari-bhakti-vilasa, the authoritative guide to Vaishnava practices, compiled in cooperation with Srila Sanatana Goswami. His life is described in Sri Chaitanya-caritamrita (Adi-lila 10.105–106), Madhya-lila, and Bhakti-ratnakara, which glorify his pure devotion and eternal service.

The disappearance day (Tirobhava Tithi) of Srila Gopala Bhatta Goswami is observed not as a day of sorrow, but as a sacred occasion to remember his spotless character, unwavering devotion, and eternal service to Sri Sri Radha-Raman and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. On this auspicious day, devotees honor him by chanting the Hare Krishna Mahā-mantra, studying his teachings, offering prayers, and praying for the mercy to develop pure devotional service. By remembering such exalted devotees, our faith in Krishna consciousness becomes stronger and our desire to serve the Lord increases.
