Master Ansar Lagari spent many years with Sain Irshad and following are his notes
I have not met a person more elegant than Sain Irshad Abbas, very honorable , powerful in speech and he set his own examples , no comparison. They would go to the masjid to perform night namaz. I was immature at age but was a true fan of Sain Irshad's personality. One night it was raining heavily, I thought tonight Sain won’t go to the masjid for namaz. Then only I saw them stepping out of the haveli with one person with a kerosene lamp in hand. They said “ just because of rain would not quit namaz at masjid” . Then went to masjid and performed namaz and came back safely.
Sain Irshad were very punctual of namaz every day and would also recite Quran Shareef. Would also instruct all followers to perform namaz. During the construction of their haveli, they stayed at Akhund Qasim house. There also as per routine morning and evening kacheri (meeting with fukra and kalaams )., there was no electricity. A follower would fan with a hand made fan. In this kacheri was present Ameer Bakhsh Lagari of Degri. This faqeer was a follower of Sain. He was very ill, due to his illness he would walk with waist bent. Sain during kacheri addressed him and asked “ do you perform namaz”. Faqeer replied “ Qibla I can't even sit”. Sain said “ Namaz can be performed even with the indication of fingers. But do not abandon namaz.” Then immediately said “ Ameer Baksh if we remove your illness would you treat us with some sweet” . Faqeer said “ yes I will treat with sweets”. Slowly he crawled towards Sain and touched their feet in gratitude. Sain said “ by morning we will end your illness”. Next morning this faqeer left this mortal world I was present.
