Introduction to NBCP
The Native Baptist Church of Pakistan (NBCP) is an indigenous ChurchMinistry serving the Lord in Pakistan since 1990. NBCPis working at National level and maintains its Head Office in Islamabad, the Capital city of Pakistan. NBCP is one of the most diverse Christian denominations in Pakistan, with over 67 local congregations comprising over 70,000 members across Pakistan. NBCP
works on a holistic approach and derives its guidance from the following:
“And He subjected all things under His feet and gave Him to be Head over all things to the church, which is His Body, the fullness of the One who fills all in all.”Eph. 1: 22, 23. Alongsidefulfilling the Spiritualneeds of its members NBCP also takes care of the social and physical requirements of Christians of Pakistan.
2. Introduction of Pakistan
Pakistan is situated in SouthEast Asia withChina, the Central Asian states and the Russian Federation in the North; Afghanistan and Iran to the West and India to its East. Pakistan has five provinces namely Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber PhakhtoonKhawah (KPK), Sindh, and GilgitBaltistan. Islamabad is the Capital of Pakistan and five districts of the northern areas are administered directly from the Capital Territory. Officially these districts are called Federally Administered Northern Areas (FANA). Pakistan has been blessed with a variety of geographical, climatic and topographic aspects. To the north of Pakistan one finds the highest mountain ranges ofthe world while to the west are the fertile plains of Indus valley; the western and southern parts of the country are deserts. The Arabian Sea provides warm water trade round the year and is one of the most convenient routes to South East Asia. The state religion in Pakistan is Islam and 95% population is Muslim. There are 5% religious minorities which mainly include Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Zoroastrians, Buddhists, Bha’ai Faith, Ahmadi Faith. Muslims are divided into two major sects, the majority being Sunniwhile the Shias are a minority who make up an estimated 5-20% of Muslims.
