Basic Ecclesial Community Archdiocese of Zamboanga The Archdiocese of Zamboanga celebrates the year of the Parish, communion of communities.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines has designated 2017 as Year of the Parish as Communion of Communities. As part of the preparation and celebration, the diocesan, vicariate and parish BEC Formation Teams are encouraged to conduct formation sessions that will promote or revitalize the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) in their respective dioceses, parishes and local communities.

Year 2017: The Parish as a Communion of Communities
“In this year we will discern the quality of faith life in the parish, the fellowship, belongingness, and participation experienced by its members. Efforts will be focused on making the parish a communion of communities, a communion of Basic Ecclesial Communities and of covenanted faith-communities and ecclesial movements. All these various communities should be thus integrated into the life and mission of the parish so that the parish will be truly be a faith community immersed in the lives of its people.”

JULY 18,2026| CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP FORMATION

Earlier, the Christian Stewardship Formation was held at San Sebastián Chapel, Cabaluay. The event was attended by the Parish Pastoral Team (PPT) and Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) Officers, Apostolate Coordinators, Tolda Cristina Leaders and Members, Ministries, and parishioners. The program opened with the remarks of Sir Teodoro Toribio, Jr., Parish BEC Coordinator, and concluded with the closing message of Sir Ariel Estrada, Parish Biblical Apostolate Coordinator.

The formation was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Joefie Handugan, Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal; Ate AJ Balnig, Parish Youth Coordinator of Our Lady of Ransom Parish; Ate Kathleen Villanueva, Parish Youth Coordinator of Our Lady of Fatima Parish; and hosted by Leanz Rodriguez, SocCom Coordinator of Our Lady of Ransom Parish. Sr. Jesusa Capricho, LGC, Archdiocesan BEC Coordinator, also graced the occasion. With the support of Rev. Fr. Teofilo Pimentel, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Fatima, the gathering became a meaningful occasion of learning, reflection, and renewed commitment to Christian stewardship.

With hearts open to God's call, the Commission on Tolda Cristiana successfully conducted a Formation on Christian Stewardship, led by Rev. Fr. Jeofie Handugan, BEC Director.

The formation was attended by the 17 Tolda Cristiana leaders and members, who gathered to deepen their understanding of Christian stewardship as faithful disciples entrusted with God's gifts. Through prayer, reflection, and meaningful discussions, participants were encouraged to embrace their mission of serving with generosity, responsibility, and love within their Basic Ecclesial Communities.

May this formation inspire every Tolda Cristiana leader and member to continue living out the Gospel through faithful stewardship, active participation, and selfless service to the Church and the community.
