Today, we join the Universal Church in celebrating the 60th World Communications Sunday. We extend our deepest gratitude to all journalists, media professionals, and social communications ministries for their tireless service in bringing truth to light, fostering unity, and bridging gaps within our communities. Communication is, ultimately, a deeply human achievement, and today we honor those who use its power to evangelize and spread messages of faith, hope, compassion, justice, service, and love.

In a special way, we recognize and celebrate the dedication of our MCIC Social Communications Ministry. Thank you to the photographers, videographers, and technical teams behind the lenses and screens who serve our community. Your commitment to documenting our journey and sharing our stories ensures that our voices are heard and the Word of God is being spread throughout our community. May the Lord continue to bless your hands and hearts! Deo Gratias!

Solemnity of the Lord's Ascension | Jesus' return to the Father marks the end of his public ministry and his appearance to the disciples after his resurrection. Through his gift of the Holy Spirit, he will accompany themin their task of preaching the Good News, as they build communities of disciples.

Reflect, today, upon your calling to not only share in this glorious moment of Jesus’ Ascension but also your calling to go forth and to do all you can to draw others into this new life. Reflect upon Jesus, Who also speaks to you today to invite you to bring others to that mountain. By teaching friends, family and all with whom God has entrusted to you to share the Gospel, you fulfill Christ’s mission to “go into the whole world” to gather the scattered people into the one fold of Christ so as to ascend with Him one day into eternity.

The MCIC Parish Youth Ministry joined the Archdiocesan Summer Youth Camp 2026 held last May 8–10 at Centro Pastoral.

Ignited with Christ, our young people came together in faith, fellowship, and service as they encountered God through prayer, formation, and newfound friendships.

During the closing program, the Central Vicariate officially received the Youth Cross as a symbol of acceptance and acknowledgment of its role as the host vicariate for ASYC 2028.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Monsignor Noli Francisco, Fr. Anjoe Rivera, and all our benefactors for their unwavering encouragement, generosity, and support throughout the camp.

All glory and thanksgiving to God, through the loving intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary, for the grace-filled moments, friendships, and memories shared during ASYC 2026. May our youth continue to be ignited with faith and committed to serving Christ and His Church.

MEMORIAL OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA:
Mary’s love is like the moon’s mellow glow, reflecting a more intense light.

Today’s Memorial celebration commemorates the greatest saint of all, Saint Mary, as she manifested herself to three humble children in the Portuguese village of Fátima in 1917. Our Lady, the only mother ever chosen by her son, appeared in a particular place, at a particular time, to a particular people, to satisfy a particular need. She spoke to the children deep theological truths about heaven, hell, and purgatory. She performed a publicly witnessed miracle that made the sun dance, asked for increased devotion to her Son Jesus Christ, and pleaded for reparation for the many sins committed against Him.

A shrine was built in the Blessed Mother’s honor at the site of her apparitions, which has welcomed millions and millions of pilgrims, including popes, over the decades. Our Lady is for the whole Church, of course, but she is closer to the faithful when she comes to them on their own terms—in their own tongue, skin, and dress, hovering over their own soil. There is one Mary, historically and theologically. There are many Marys, culturally and symbolically.

Our Lady of Fatima, your miraculous apparitions fill us with hope that you follow our concerns, intervene in our lives, and demand greater fidelity of us. May we heed your words and your warnings and carry out God’s will with your life as our example.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
