MEMORIAL OF SAINT JOSEPH THE WORKER |

PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER

O Glorious, St. Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations, to work with gratitude and joy, in a spirit of penance for the remission of my sins, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God, to work with order, peace, moderation and patience, without ever shrinking from weariness and difficulties, to work above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account that I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God. All for Jesus, all through Mary, after your example,

O Patriarch, St. Joseph. Such shall be my watchword in life and in death. AMEN

Saint Joseph the Worker, Pray for us!

MEMORIAL OF SAINT BERNADETTE SOUBIROUS OF LOURDES |

Bernadette Soubirous was born in 1844, the first child of an extremely poor miller in the town of Lourdes in southern France. The family was living in the basement of a dilapidated building when on February 11, 1858, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette in a cave above the banks of the Gave River near Lourdes. Bernadette, 14 years old, was known as a virtuous girl though a dull student who had not even made her first Holy Communion. In poor health, she had suffered from asthma from an early age.

There were 18 appearances in all, the final one occurring on the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, July 16. Although Bernadette’s initial reports provoked skepticism, her daily visions of “the Lady” brought great crowds of the curious. The Lady, Bernadette explained, had instructed her to have a chapel built on the spot of the visions. There, the people were to come to wash in and drink of the water of the spring that had welled up from the very spot where Bernadette had been instructed to dig.

According to Bernadette, the Lady of her visions was a girl of 16 or 17 who wore a white robe with a blue sash. Yellow roses covered her feet, a large rosary was on her right arm. In the vision on March 25 she told Bernadette, “I am the Immaculate Conception.” It was only when the words were explained to her that Bernadette came to realize who the Lady was.

Few visions have ever undergone the scrutiny that these appearances of the Immaculate Virgin were subject to. Lourdes became one of the most popular Marian shrines in the world, attracting millions of visitors. Miracles were reported at the shrine and in the waters of the spring. After thorough investigation, Church authorities confirmed the authenticity of the apparitions in 1862.

She died on April 16, 1879, at the age of 35. She was canonized in 1933.

SOLEMNITY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE DIVINE MERCY |

In a series of revelations to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s, our Lord called for a special feast day to be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. Today, we know that feast as Divine Mercy Sunday, named by Pope St. John Paul II at the canonization of St. Faustina on April 30, 2000.

The Lord expressed His will with regard to this feast in His very first revelation to St. Faustina. The most comprehensive revelation can be found in her Diary entry 699:

My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and a shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day are opened all the divine floodgates through which graces flow. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My mercy.

In all, St. Faustina recorded 14 revelations from Jesus concerning His desire for this feast.

Nevertheless, Divine Mercy Sunday is NOT a feast based solely on St. Faustina's revelations. Indeed, it is not primarily about St. Faustina — nor is it altogether a new feast. The Second Sunday of Easter was already a solemnity as the Octave Day of Easter[1]. The title "Divine Mercy Sunday" does, however, highlight the meaning of the day.

ACT OF CONSECRATION

LEADER: O Mary, Mother of God and our Mother,

PEOPLE: throughout the centuries, you have proved your intercession as ever efficacious both in the personal endeavors of the faithful and in the welfare of the Church as a whole. Through your prayers, battles have been won, ravaging pestilence vanished, conversion among the unbelievers transpired and peace was established among families and nations. By your maternal charity, you never failed to care for us, the brothers and sisters of your Son Jesus, who still journey on earth and who still strive to increase in holiness by conquering sin. As we turn our eyes to you who shine forth to the whole Church as our model of following Christ and contemplate on your role as our Mediatrix to the Word-Made-Man, we are filled with joy for the privilege of having you as our gracious Mother. Amid the uncertainties and perils hanging over our heads in our earthly sojourn, our hearts are at peace knowing that you are there, attentive to our cries and prompt to come to our rescue in time of dire need. Stay with us, O Mother, to intercede for us with your Son, to bring our needs and worries to Him, to ask Him to grant our petitions and to constantly remind us ‘to do whatever He tells us’.

LEADER: O Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace,

PEOPLE: you became our Mother in Calvary in the order of grace. God willed that as your Heart once shared in the cruelty of Christ’s passion, that same Heart shall be a participant in the mediation and application
of fruits of redemption. Take us then in your Heart’s embrace and open now to us the treasury of Christ’s saving grace. As nature and humanity groan in labor pains as a consequence of our disobedience to God, we
raise our open, empty hands, pleading you for Christ’s grace: the grace that reconciles us with God, frees us from enslavement to sin, and heals the injuries inflicted to our body and soul. Renew your wondrous acts of kindness as of old, O Powerful Mediatrix of All Grace and obtain for us from Jesus, if it be for the good of our souls, the particular grace we ask for, so that both in life and in death we may
rest happily in your motherly embrace, thus we consecrate our lives to you. Amen

MAUNDY THURSDAY | The Washing of the Feet and The Institution of the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper

A sacred reminder of love, humility, and service. Just as Christ shared His final meal with His disciples, may we also share kindness and compassion with one another.
“I give you a new commandment: Love one another as I have loved you.” – John 13:34 ❤️
Let this day inspire us to love deeper, forgive freely, and serve selflessly.

MONDAY OF THE HOLY WEEK |

And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, 'It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you make it a den of robbers'."

PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD'S PASSION |
HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST!

With hearts full of praise, we proclaim, “Hosanna in the highest!” as we welcome Palm Sunday—the joyful beginning of Holy Week. On this sacred day, we remember the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, where He was greeted by crowds waving palm branches and laying them along His path, honoring Him as King and Savior.

Palm Sunday is a celebration filled with meaning. It is a moment of joy, yet it also invites us into a deeper reflection. The same voices that shouted “Hosanna!” would soon cry “Crucify Him!”—reminding us of how quickly faith can waver. In this, we are called to examine our own hearts: Do we remain faithful to Christ in both joy and suffering?

As we hold our blessed palms today, may they not only symbolize our praise but also our commitment to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. This day marks the beginning of a sacred journey—from triumph to sacrifice, from the Cross to the empty tomb.

Hosanna indeed—for our King has come, and He invites us to walk with Him.

SOLEMNITY OF THE ANNUNCIATION OF THE LORD |

The Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, on which celebration we celebrate today commemorates the moment when the Angel Gabriel visited the Virgin Mary to announce that she would conceive and bear the Son of God, Jesus Christ. This event is recorded in the Gospel of Luke (1:26-38).

Theologically, the Annunciation marks the point at which God’s plan for redemption took a decisive step forward, with the Incarnation of Christ. The Feast of the Annunciation invites us like Mary's fiat, her "yes" to God's will despite the uncertainty, God assures us that His plan for us would lead us to goodness.

Today's solemnity invites us to be obedient, receptive and trusting to God's will in our lives. This feast that calls for both celebration and reflection on God’s immense love and the mystery of how He chose to work through a humble woman to bring about the salvation of the world.
