"Whom Do You Trust When Trouble Strikes?"
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
When life unravels and your strength fails, who do you turn to? When the storm rages and fear knocks at your door, where do you find shelter?
Let’s turn to the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20. When Judah was threatened by a vast army, the king did not rely on military power or political alliances. Instead, he sought the Lord. He gathered the people, proclaimed a fast, and prayed, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” (2 Chronicles 20:12)
And God answered. He said, “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)
Jehoshaphat trusted God—no matter what. Even before the victory came, he praised. Even before the enemy retreated, he believed. And the result? God confused the enemy, and Judah won the battle without lifting a sword.
That same God is your refuge and strength. Not a distant help, but a present one. Right here. Right now. In your trouble, He stands beside you—not in silence, but in power.
So today, I ask you: Will you trust God, no matter what? When anxiety rises, when answers delay, when the odds are against you—will you stand still and see the salvation of the Lord?
Lift your eyes to Him. The God who brought victory to Jehoshaphat is the same God who walks with you today.
