Repentance calls us to turn away from what keeps us from God and to return to Him with a humble and willing heart. But as Bro. Francis reminded us in our Talk 3, this journey of returning to God is also deeply rooted in Faith.

Faith is not something we can simply earn, achieve, or acquire by our own strength. It is a pure gift from God.

May we never take this gift for granted. May our repentance lead us closer to God, and may our faith continually remind us that everything begins and ends with His grace.

Lord, give us hearts that are willing to repent, faith that trusts You, and lives that respond to Your gift with love.

A Statement of Sympathy, Solidarity, and Prayer
Couples For Christ Zamboanga City

As Couples for Christ Zamboanga, we join the Ateneo de Zamboanga University community, the affected families, and the entire Zamboanga community in prayer, sympathy, and solidarity during this deeply painful time.
No family, no school, and no community ever wish to experience such a tragedy. Our schools should be safe spaces where our young people can learn, grow, dream, and discover their purpose. More than securing our schools, however, we must continue to form our young people in our homes, in our schools, in our churches, and in our communities.

As CFC, we believe that strong families are the foundation of a peaceful society. The values of respect, compassion, self-control, forgiveness, and reverence for life are first nurtured at home. Through Couples for Christ and our family and youth ministries, especially Youth for Christ, we remain committed to accompanying and molding the young to become persons of faith, character, responsibility, and peace.
The formation of our youth is a shared mission. Parents, families, educators, churches, youth ministries, and communities all have a role to play. We must create spaces where our young people feel heard, valued, guided, and loved.

We cannot simply ask our youth to become good people; we must journey with them as they become good people. They need families who will guide them, schools that will form them, communities that will support them, and ministries that will accompany them. Every adult who chooses to listen to a young person, every parent who chooses to be present, every teacher who chooses to understand, and every ministry worker who chooses to accompany becomes part of building a safer generation.

WE ARE ONE in this mission. One in strengthening families. One in accompanying our youth. One in building schools and communities where every young person can feel safe and protected. One in choosing compassion and peace, especially in moments of grief.

At this time, we also appeal to everyone to exercise compassion and restraint in the use of social media. We respectfully ask the public to refrain from posting, sharing, circulating, or sensationalizing graphic images, videos, or other disturbing materials related to the incident. Behind every image is a person, a family, and a story deserving of dignity and respect.

May this painful moment remind us of our shared responsibility to strengthen our homes, form our youth, protect our schools, and build a culture of peace.

Our prayers are with the Ateneo community.
Our prayers are with the families who are grieving.
Our prayers are with the young people who are hurting and afraid.
Our prayers are for healing, peace, and hope.
May our homes be places where peace begins.
May our families be schools of love.
May our youth become bearers of hope.
And may we, as one community, choose compassion.

WE ARE ONE.

Families in the Holy Spirit renewing the face of the earth.

TALK 2 | WHO IS JESUS CHRIST? ✨

Last Friday, August 14, we gathered for another meaningful evening at our Christian Life Program as we reflected on a question that invites more than just an answer:

“Who is Jesus to me?” ❤️

Through the sharing of Sis. Crizza Mae D. Capisen, we were reminded that Jesus is not merely someone we know about. He is our Lord, Savior, Brother, and Friend—someone we are called to know, love, and follow.

It was an evening filled with reflection, sharing, laughter, and meaningful conversations as we continued discovering what it means to build a deeper and more personal relationship with Christ. 🙏

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening truly special. May the message we received last Friday continue to stay with us throughout the week:

Know Him.
Love Him.
Follow Him.

And the journey continues. 🤍

See you again this Friday! Come and join us at the San Antonio Mary Claret Parish Hall, from 7:00 PM–9:00 PM.

👥 Open to all single persons ages 21–38.

Bring a friend, come as you are, and let’s continue this journey together. ✨

WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?

Maybe we know His name.
Maybe we've heard His stories.
Maybe we've prayed to Him countless times.

But beyond everything we know about Jesus, there is a deeper question:

Who is Jesus to YOU?

For Sis. Crizza Mae D. Capisen, He is her Lord, Savior, Brother, and Friend. In Talk 2 of the on-going Christian Life Program of CFC-SFC Zamboanga City, she reminds us that faith is not merely about knowing who Jesus is, but it is about choosing to know Him, love Him, and follow Him.

Now it's your turn:

Who is Jesus in your life? ✨

If you’re looking for a space to know Him more, come and join us! 🤍

The Commission on Social Communications and Mass Media will hold its General Assembly on August 21, Friday, at Sacred Heart Center, R.T. Lim Boulevard, with the theme "Amplify: Connected by Faith, Sent to Communicate."

This gathering will unite parish communicators, youth leaders, and ministry representatives to reflect, share, and strengthen the mission of proclaiming the Good News. Guided by the theme, participants will amplify their voices in service of the Church and highlight the vital role of communication in fostering unity and evangelization.

It will be a day of prayer, fellowship, and a celebration of faith, service and joy.

Last week, Bro. Emman reminded us of a beautiful truth: “GOD’S LOVE IS NOT JUST A FEELING; IT IS ALSO AN ACT CONSTANTLY PURSUING US.”

It reminded us that God’s love is not passive, it is a love that continually seeks us, reaches out to us, and never gives up on us. His love is shown not only in what we feel, but in the ways He continues to move, call, and meet us where we are.

And today, we continue our journey as we discover more about Who Jesus Christ is. Who is Jesus to us? How does knowing Him change the way we live and love?

We’re excited to learn more about Him, deepen our relationship with Him, and share another meaningful evening together. We can’t wait to see you! See you later brothers and sisters.

As we begin a new week, let’s take a moment to look back at our CLP Talk 1 last Friday!

Participants from different parts of the province gathered together to discover and experience God’s love. From heartfelt sharing and meaningful reflections to joyful singing, getting to know new friends, and simply enjoying the fellowship, it was truly a beautiful evening filled with faith, joy, and connection.

Talk 1 was just the beginning of our journey! We look forward to growing together, deepening our relationship with Christ, and discovering more of what He has in store for each of us.

Thank you for being part of this beautiful beginning! See you on Friday!

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord—a powerful reminder that Christ reveals His divine glory to strengthen our faith and prepare us for the journey of discipleship.

As the light of Christ shone on the mountain, may His presence transform our hearts, renew our hope, and inspire us to reflect His love in our daily lives. May we listen to His voice, follow Him faithfully, and become witnesses of His light in a world longing for hope.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of Saint John Vianney, the humble Curé d'Ars and Patron Saint of Parish Priests.

His life reminds us that holiness is found in humble service, prayer, and a heart devoted to God. Through his compassion, dedication to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and unwavering love for Christ, he became a beacon of hope for countless souls.

As we honor Saint John Vianney, may his example inspire us to seek God's mercy, grow in faith, and support our priests through our prayers and gratitude.

St. John Vianney, pray for us, and for all priests, that they may faithfully shepherd God's people with love and holiness.
