The Lay Liturgical ministers from the Western Vicariate II parishes had their 3rd quarter Liturgical formation held at the Our Lady of Purification Parish.

Various insights were gathered to strengthen their formation in their respective ministries. Rev Fr. Elmer Sumile shared about the Holistic wellness that is needed by every server, while Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Mirasol gave a talk about the Sacrosanctum concilum- emphasizing how Liturgical renewal have shaped the faithfuls to have their Full, conscious, and active participation in the liturgy.

May this gathering inspire our Lay Liturgical ministers to serve with humility, dedication, and a proper disposition not just in the altar, but in our community as well.

Day 2 was a fun and meaningful day with the theme β€œEncountering Others: Building One Family of Altar Servers.”

We spent time together, shared our stories, and learned more about each other. We realized that being an altar server is not only about serving at the altar, but also about being a family who supports and cares for one another.

We also had a bonfire, where we let go of our sadness, worries, hurt, and sulking. We burned them and chose to move forward with a happy heart and stronger faith.

Thank you, everyone, for making Day 2 special! Let us continue to grow, serve, and stay together as one family of Altar Servers.

HOLY HOUR | In the Aftermath of Tragedy and for All Children and Young People

Tonight, we come before Jesus with heavy hearts bringing our fears, questions, sadness, and the pain caused by the recent tragedy that has affected the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School community. We pray for everyone who has been directly and indirectly affected, especially the children and young people who carry wounds seen and unseen. May Jesus, the Healer of the Brokenhearted, bring comfort to those who grieve, strength to those who are afraid, healing to those who are hurting, and peace to every family, teacher, and member of the school community.

May this Holy Hour remind us that no child or young person should ever feel alone. May our homes, schools, parishes, and communities become places of safety, compassion, understanding, and hope. Together, let us entrust our children and young people to Jesus and pray:

β€œJesus, we trust in You.”

πŸ•―οΈ May His light shine even in the darkest night, and may His peace remain in every wounded heart.

We are reaching out to our generous parish community for support for our two youth members and their families who were affected by the fire incident earlier at Purok 6, Villa Sta. Maria.

At this difficult time, any form of assistance can make a meaningful difference. We are humbly accepting donations such as food, clothing, hygiene kits, drinking water, blankets, and other essential items.

The Commission on Social Communications and Mass Media will hold its General Assembly on August 21, Friday, at Sacred Heart Center, R.T. Lim Boulevard, with the theme "Amplify: Connected by Faith, Sent to Communicate."

This gathering will unite parish communicators, youth leaders, and ministry representatives to reflect, share, and strengthen the mission of proclaiming the Good News. Guided by the theme, participants will amplify their voices in service of the Church and highlight the vital role of communication in fostering unity and evangelization.

Today, we thank God for the gift of fathers and father figures who reflect His love through their care, sacrifice, guidance, and quiet strength.

Just as our Heavenly Father never leaves us, earthly fathers continue to show us what it means to protect, provide, and love even in simple and unseen ways.
