🕊️ Novena in Honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Day 1: What Do You Desire?

📖 “Look, here is the Lamb of God!” The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.
—John 1:35–37

💭 Reflection:
At the beginning of this novena, Jesus gently turns His gaze to you and asks,
“What is it that you seek?”

It’s not a question to test you—but to invite you.
What is stirring in your heart today?
A longing for peace? Healing? Direction? Strength?
Whatever it may be, bring it before the Sacred Heart.

The two disciples followed Jesus with curiosity, not knowing exactly where He would lead—but they trusted. You too are invited to follow, even if your desire feels uncertain or unspoken.

Desire is the language of the heart. And when lifted to Christ, even our most fragile desires become holy ground. In fact, as St. Augustine reminds us, every true desire is a hidden reaching for God.

So let your desire speak. Let your soul ache. Because in that ache, you are already praying.

🙏 Today’s Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I come before You with an open heart.
I may not fully understand all that I desire,
but I place these longings in Your Sacred Heart.
Speak to me in the silence. Shape my desires to match Yours,
and give me the courage to follow wherever You lead.

June 7 | The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

In 1675, Jesus told St. Margaret Mary that He wanted the Feast of the Sacred Heart to be celebrated on the Friday after the Corpus Christi octave. In 1856, the Feast of the Sacred Heart became a universal feast.

St. John Paul II, a great devotee of the Sacred Heart, said, “This feast reminds us of the mystery of the love of God for the people of all times.”
