The celebration will be held on Thursday, 27 August 2026, at 5:00 in the afternoon, at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Virac, Catanduanes. The Mass will be presided over by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Joel Zamudio Baylon, D.D., Bishop of Legazpi, on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Dedication of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral.

This celebration is a time for us to give thanks to God for the blessings and journey of our diocese. It is also a time to begin together the first year of our Diocesan Synodal Pastoral Plan, as we continue to walk together in faith, communion, and service.

Let us come together as one diocesan family to celebrate, give thanks, and renew our commitment to the mission of the Church.

Life today can be overwhelming. So many opinions. So many expectations. So many things telling us who we should be.

Then Jesus asks: โ€œWho do you say that I am?โ€

Maybe the question isn't only about what we know about Jesus. Maybe it's about how much we trust Him when life gets confusing.

When plans fail.
When prayers seem unanswered.
When we feel lost.
When we're tired of pretending that everything is okay.

Jesus reminds us that our faith gives us something - and Someone - to hold on to.

Thank you to Rev. Fr. Allan Martin V. Basilio for presiding over today's Eucharistic celebration and helping us reflect on God's message.

May we carry today's Gospel beyond the church doors and into our everyday lives.

Faith isn't about having a perfect life. It's about knowing where to turn when life isn't perfect.

โ€œGreat is your faith.โ€

As we celebrate the 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time, presided over by Rev. Fr. Rommel Arcilla, the Gospel reminds us that true faith is not measured only by how much we know or by how beautiful our prayers are. Faith is shown through our trust in Godโ€”especially during moments when He seems silent and our prayers are not answered right away.

Like the Canaanite woman in the Gospel, we may also experience moments of exhaustion, pain, and discouragement. But her example teaches us not to give up in prayer. We are called to keep holding on, to remain faithful, and to trust that God has a purpose even in our waiting.

When life becomes difficult, may we learn to say: โ€œLord, I will continue to trust in You.โ€

Lord, deepen our faith and teach us to trust in Your will, in every season of our lives.

As we celebrate the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Karl Arcilla, we are reminded once again that in the midst of lifeโ€™s storms and fears, we are never alone - Jesus is always with us.

In todayโ€™s Gospel, the disciples found themselves struggling against strong winds while Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When Peter saw Him, he courageously stepped out of the boat and walked toward Jesus. But when fear took over, he began to sink.

Sometimes, we are like Peter. We take a step of faith, believing that everything will be okay, but when problems come, fear and doubt can easily take over. Yet Jesus reminds us: when our eyes and hearts remain fixed on Him, we can face even the strongest storms in life.

โ€œTake courage! It is I; do not be afraid.โ€ - Matthew 14:27

This Sunday, let us choose to trust God. We may not know how strong the storm will be or how long it will last, but we can be certain of this: the God who walks with us is greater than any storm we may face.

Lord, teach us to trust You even when fear overwhelms us. When our faith becomes weak, hold our hands, strengthen our hearts, and help us continue walking with You. Amen.

Today, we gathered as one faith community to celebrate the Holy Eucharist on this 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time, presided over by Rev. Fr. Karl Arcilla.

In todayโ€™s Gospel, Jesus shows us His deep compassion for the people. When the disciples saw only five loaves and two fish, Jesus saw an opportunity to share, to serve, and to provide. Through the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves, we are reminded that when we offer what we have to the Lord - even if it may seem small - He can bless it and make it a source of abundance for many.

May we learn to trust in Godโ€™s providence, share generously with others, and respond with compassion to those who are in need. With Jesus, no act of kindness is too small, and no offering made with love is ever wasted.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Fr. Karl Arcilla for presiding over the Holy Eucharist and sharing the Word of God with our community. May the Lord continue to bless and strengthen him in his priestly ministry.
