Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love.

The Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit gives us wisdom, strength, and courage to live as true disciples of Christ. When we open our hearts to His presence, He renews us, guides us in truth, and empowers us to share God's love with the world.

Come, Holy Spirit, renew the face of the earth.

Happy Birthday to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church

Today, we joyfully celebrate the birthday of the Church, born on the great feast of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles gathered in prayer with the Blessed Virgin Mary. What began in a humble upper room in Jerusalem became a living and unstoppable mission that continues to transform hearts even today. The same Church founded by Christ more than two thousand years ago still stands firm, proclaiming the Gospel to every nation and generation.

The Church is not merely a building made of stone, nor simply an organization created by human hands. The Church is the living Body of Christ. She is our spiritual home, our mother in faith, and the vessel through which God continues to pour His grace into the world. Through the Church, we receive the Sacraments, hear the Word of God, encounter Christ in the Holy Eucharist, and learn how to walk in holiness.

We call her One because there is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. Despite different languages, cultures, and traditions, the faithful are united in Christ. She is Holy not because all her members are perfect, but because her founder is holy and because the Holy Spirit continually sanctifies her. She is Catholic because her mission is universal, embracing all people from every corner of the earth. And she is Apostolic because her teachings and authority come directly from the Apostles, entrusted to them by Jesus Himself.

Pentecost reminds us that the Church was born in fire, courage, and mission. The Apostles, once fearful and hiding, were transformed by the Holy Spirit into bold witnesses of Christ. That same Spirit continues to guide the Church today. In a world filled with confusion, division, and hopelessness, the Church remains a light that points humanity back to God.

As we celebrate the Churchโ€™s birthday, may we remember that we are not merely spectators in the faith. We are part of this living Church. Each baptized person is called to become a witness of Christ through love, prayer, kindness, forgiveness, and holiness of life.

May the Holy Spirit renew the Church once again and set our hearts on fire with faith, hope, and love.

โ€œCome, Holy Spirit, comeโ€

becomes even more meaningful as the Church draws near to Pentecostโ€”the day when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles like tongues of fire and changed the world forever.

Before Pentecost, the apostles were afraid, hiding behind locked doors, uncertain of what would come next after the Ascension of Jesus. But when the Holy Spirit came upon them, their fear was transformed into courage, their silence into proclamation, and their weakness into strength. The same Spirit who descended in the Upper Room continues to move in the Church and in every faithful heart today.

As Pentecost approaches, this prayer becomes our longing too. We ask the Holy Spirit to descend once more upon our hearts, our homes, our Church, and our world. We pray for a new fire of faith in a time when many hearts have grown cold, distracted, or weary. We ask for the grace to live not according to fear, but according to the power and love of God.

Pentecost reminds us that Christianity is not lived alone. The Holy Spirit gathers, renews, sanctifies, and sends us forth. He gives wisdom to the confused, hope to the discouraged, healing to the wounded, and zeal to those who have become spiritually tired.

So as we prepare for the coming of Pentecost, may this simple prayer rise daily from our hearts:

โ€œCome, Holy Spirit, come.โ€

Come with Your fire.
Come with Your light.
Come renew Your people once again. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

MAY 15 IS THE FEAST OF ST. ISIDORE THE FARMER

Feast of Saint Isidore the Farmer โ€” patron saint of farmers, laborers, agricultural workers, and the people of Madrid.

O humble Saint Isidore, your life reminds us that holiness can be found even in the simplest and most ordinary work. Though you spent your days laboring in the fields, your heart was always lifted to God, especially through your deep love for the Holy Mass.

Teach us to value the Holy Eucharist as you did. Inspire us to seek God first before all our daily tasks and responsibilities. Help us to recognize that every honest work, when offered to the Lord with love and faith, becomes a pleasing sacrifice in His sight.

May we never grow tired of coming to Mass, where Christ becomes truly present in the Holy Eucharist โ€” Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity โ€” nourishing and strengthening our souls.

Guide us to offer our joys, hardships, labor, and sacrifices to God through the hands of the priest during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. May our daily work lead us not only to earthly provision, but also to eternal blessings in heaven.

Good Saint Isidore, bless our homes, our work, our fields, and all who labor tirelessly each day. Pray that we may remain faithful to God in both prayer and work, until we share with you the reward of everlasting life.

Amen.

"Kapag mabuti ang ginagawa mo, wala Kang dapat ikatakot."

- Fr. Totie Bermudez

May 12 โ€” Tuesday Devotion to Saint Anthony of Padua

On this blessed Tuesday, let us turn our hearts to St. Anthony of Padua, the beloved Franciscan saint known for his powerful intercession, deep wisdom, and burning love for Jesus. For centuries, countless faithful have sought his prayers in times of difficulty, loss, sickness, confusion, and spiritual struggle. Through his holy life and unwavering faith, St. Anthony continues to lead souls closer to God.

St. Anthony was not only a preacher of truth but also a man filled with compassion for the poor, the forgotten, and those searching for hope. He reminds us that holiness is found in humility, prayer, charity, and obedience to the Lord. Many know him as the patron saint of lost things, yet his greatest mission is helping people rediscover what is truly lost in the world todayโ€”faith, peace, repentance, and trust in God.

As we honor him this Tuesday, may we ask for his intercession for our families, our intentions, and our personal struggles. May he help those searching for work, healing, direction, and reconciliation. May he also strengthen our devotion to the Holy Eucharist and inspire us to live lives centered on Christ.

Let this day also be a reminder that miracles still happen through faith. God continues to work through His saints, touching hearts and granting grace to those who pray with sincerity and confidence.

Prayer to St. Anthony of Padua:

โ€œO glorious St. Anthony, gentle and powerful intercessor, help us in our needs and guide us closer to Jesus. Obtain for us peace in our hearts, strength in our trials, and faith in times of uncertainty. Teach us to love God above all things and to trust completely in His divine providence. Amen.โ€

Saint Anthony of Padua, pray for us.
